I do not think these protests are useless. They are actually educational to some extent. Americans specially. Many did not even know that these clashes in universities and against authorities is also happening in Israel. No they are not thrown innocent students from tall buildings to the ground but there has been many arrests.
Peace upon all regions of the world.

I certainly hope the students on both sides of the issue can have a constructive and meaningful discussion. Unfortunately, what we have seen in this country (from politicians to cable channels), that is not possible. They take a position and will not deviate from it no matter what. If all fails, name calling, labeling and fights are the next best thing these days. Older adults can’t figure out how to talk. Hopefully, the youngsters can teach us a lesson.

Well, I am not sure the representatives can be educated to swim upstream. I think a big part of the problem is the representatives that are hurled forward as the selected ones by AIPAC and other similar groups into the congress. They will never go back on AIPAC. I think a new set of representatives are needed and so, a new system needs to be established otherwise those who do not have the AIPAC support will never make it.

We need to educate not the college students but our representatives that there is absolutely no benefit to US supporting a state that touts its origins of existence to a passage in Old Testament. We’re fundamentally a nation that was built upon the separation of church n state. Israel stands clearly opposite to that, we are ideologically polar opposites

I actually tend to agree. But I think it is not entirely useless. It has educational value. They will learn how far freedom of speech goes in certain direction at the cradle of democracy.

Agha Ashkan, if I may suggest some things that might help you. I think most here consider you as a pest from the other site impersonating and trying to stir trouble.

So, my friend, you have no respect here until you actually demonstrate that you are the humanitarian that you pretend to be.

Otherwise showing up here with a fake handle and demanding people to follow you for your cause is only the material for a comedy classic, the various versions of which, we have seen over and over from the other site.

Just my two cents.
