Lessons learned from the past few months!
The more you push a regime like IRI, the harder they push back. Unfortunately for the people of Iran, that will not change anything for better. IRI only cares for their survival. They have been preparing for this for 40+ years. They have seen and studied what happened to the neighboring countries and their leaders. They realize that their survival doesn’t depend on logic, only force! Once again, that means more pain for the people! Simple lesson for the world is to avoid doing what they did to Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya and… the only way is to get them to open up to the world. The more they push them to the corner, the harsher the response!

On the SOH I have had several conversations with a few Shahollahis. The thing is that they get upset when you say anything against the Pahlavis. They are god's incarnation and could not have done any wrong.  When I showed them a video that was posted here about Bahrain and how all these discussions about SOH would have been moot, they start claiming that even if Iran had Bahrain, which is clear across the Persian Golf, still Iran would not have the right to claim sovereignty over its territorial waters.  The thing is that if Iran had Bahrain, most of the Persian Golf would have actually been considered internal territorial waters of Iran. They argue anything to exonerate the Pahlavis.

Then they somehow assume that all these Persian Gulf countries have a right to the water way. This is the biggest misunderstanding. Does every country on the planet have a right to a water way to get to the open sea? The clear answer to that is NO. The best precedence is the case between Turkiye and Russia. UN gave the control of the strait of Bosphorous to Turkiye cutting off Russia's direct access to open sea. Since then Turkiye has managed the Bosphorous with great stability and Russia has had no issues as long as they play nice with Turkiye. Iran is asking for the same rights.

Exactly. He should use some of the BS art of the deal he always goes on about. He should just say u have Hormuz, but do not enrich to weapons grade and allow inspections. then walk away from Hormuz, pull your troops from Europe too and say you are focusing America first, energizing your base. I bet you IRI would go for that. Then turn around and tell american people that mission is accomplished. We destroyed all Iran's nuclear capabilities and will have UN inspectors there to make sure they wont restart again. His base would get re-energized and buy every bit of it.

The only problem here is the lunatic yaboo. If Trump is strong enough and does this, yaboo will then start working on the democrats.

This is amazing to me! Just a day ago, IRI was shooting at a US frigate and supposedly hit UAE. Then they published a map declaring all of UAE coast as under Iran control. [rofl] Today Trump pulls the rug from under Operation Freedom and plays nice saying an agreement based on Iranian conditions are near.  [rofl]

I wonder how Yaboo feels about this. [smile]

The thing is that this is the first sane thing that Trump has done. He is destroying his presidency and the world economy. Logic dictates this has to stop. A logical president would simply pull back and say we made a mistake, lick his wounds and focus on restoring the rest of his presidency. Reagan did that after the Beirut bombing. Simply puled all American troops out of Lebanon.

On Monday morning, the United States Navy began escorting commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. By Tuesday afternoon, the operation had been paused.
President Donald Trump announced the reversal on Truth Social, citing the “request of Pakistan and other Countries” and “great progress” towards a “complete and final agreement” with Iran.

Iran war day 68: Trump talks about progress in talks; Rubio says war ‘over’
Earlier on Tuesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared that Operation Epic Fury, the air and naval campaign launched on February 28, was “concluded”.
What Washington now sought, he said, was a “memorandum of understanding for future negotiations”.
For weeks, that is precisely what Iran has been demanding.
In proposals passed on to the US through Pakistan, Iran has in recent weeks sought multistage negotiations, with a preliminary deal aimed at ending the war, and negotiations on the White House’s demands that Tehran end its nuclear programme pushed for later.
Trump and his administration resisted, with the US president insisting that getting Iran to give up its nuclear programme was central to any deal with Tehran.
Now, the US appears to have come around to accepting Iran’s demand, say experts. On Wednesday, the Reuters news agency and the US publication Axios reported that the US and Iran were close to agreeing to a one-page MoU to end the war, even though there have been no detailed negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear programme.
Seyed Mojtaba Jalalzadeh, an international relations analyst based in Tehran, said the week’s diplomatic signals reflected a sober reassessment in Washington of what was achievable.

Iran has set up a formal email system for any ships trying to pass through the Hormuz strait. In the reply they will get thhe rules and terms of an agreement. I sent them an email but no response yet!

Ships intending to transit the strait receive an email from info@PGSA.ir informing them of the transit regulations. They then adjust to the framework and receive a transit permit.

Newsmax reporter to Hegseth: ‘When did the president decide to capitulate?’
I think, a central default that has occurred here, and I would like you both to address it,” he added. “On the first day of this conflict, President Trump addressed the Iranian people directly and said, ‘when we’re finished, take over your government. It’ll be yours to take.’ And then on the seventh day of the conflict, in a Truth Social post, the president said, ‘There will be no deal with Iran except’ all caps, exclamation mark ‘UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!’”
Rosen continued: “What happens to that pledge to the Iranians? And when did the president decide to capitulate on his demand for unconditional surrender?”
