Comments: Reza jAn, Jordan has become a major force in west Asia. I think after Iran (under a good coach) they are the second best team now in west Asia ahead of Arabia and Qatar. They are physically big and from what I saw yesterday, they are also probably the most ghebrAgh team in Asia right now. Arabia players looked pretty righoo next to them. With some luck they would have scored four on Arabia. In Asian cup, they went all the way to the final beating Korea. They were only defeated because of three consecutive BS penalty calls in favor of Qatar. In a non-rigged game, they would easily over run Qatar and win the cup.
Comments: I think the character of each coach reflects onto the team and makes a team in a similar character. With CQ we had a team not individual players. They were fully integrated and playing as a team. They also loved their coach. Now, most are watching out for backstabbers in the team and the big names really don't care. They know this is not going anywhere. All reflective of GN's personality.
Comments: Agha Rashti Jan, All I can say to CQ's critics is that they should look at his record. While he had been the coach, we have months of wins with "clean sheets" and occasional draws or losses in WCQ games. But "results" alone don't always tell the full story either. The way the team was interacting with each other was at a completely different level than we see these days. Their confidence was high; they had fun playing, and enjoying the games. They would feed each other great passes and enjoy the results collectively as a team. In yesterday's game (and Hong Kong's as well), they kept pointing fingers at each other and criticizing each other. This is like a marriage that is headed for a divorce under Gotbi, versus a great marriage and even during honeymoon under CQ. BIG DIFFERENCE.
Comments: I believe that with the huge talent edge we have over most other Asian teams, will still qualify for the WC; but if we are playing this poorly against 2nd and third-tier Asian teams (Uzbeks & Hong Kong, respectively), we will be the laughing stock in the WC.
Comments: Below is my brief assessment of the game we played yesterday, since I did watch it, albeit on "Mute". In summary, I felt the team was simply not motivated, as a team should for such a high-profile game (WCQ). Some may say the game was meaning less, but I beg to differ. Not only the game has a lot of meaning, it would also send a message to all other teams in the upcoming rounds. If we play poorly (as we did yesterday), no one will take us seriously. Their confidence will be boosted when they play us and as everyone knows, one of the most important elements in high-level games (say against Japan for example), is confidence. Also, finishing on top (first place) has implications for us down the road. The team had very little chemistry together, as if they were put together last week, which of course is not true. Our coaching staff is simply out of their leagues. They do not have the pedigree, knowledge, maturity and experience that is needed in today's high-stake games. Uzbek's coach was quite knowledgeable and mature; I was jealous as to how he was motivating his team to play against such a strong team and in reality Iran was luck to get a draw from that game. In conclusion, we have reverted back to pre-CQ days, where everyone simply relies on p[player's "talents" and there is really no plan on how to conduct a game in such a big arena. They do not have a plan, because they do not know how to put together a plan. It is not their fault; they just don;t have it. We do need CQ, or someone of his caliber, which is head and shoulders above what we have been seeing lately. I did not even mention our dismal display of coaching incompetence during Hong King game, which was laughable.
Comments: Last time we were grouped with North Korea was in 2006 third stage of qualifying. The game in NK was a memorable one, Iran won 2-0 and the NK homies were not happy about losing so they went after the team in their dressing room ![]()
Comments: Zinsky :) :) It is pretty funny but also sad that we have to talk about fourth and fifth rounds. But I agree with this coaching staff, I would not be surprised to go down that far.
Comments: total University of California investments is estimated to be $170B. So, about 19% is invested in Israel. This is mostly to make someone happy. There are a lot of good places to invest. So, an investor will have to chose where to go. Choosing to put 19% into a small country like Israel speaks volumes. by the way, in case you guys have not followed academic investments, it is a major economic force that climbs up into trillions. Universities are huge businesses in the US. The same kind of issues emerged during the South African apartheid, students demanding divestment. Huge sums had been invested in the apartheid system. As soon as that system went down, the money went away too-a clear indication that the money was just there to make someone happy.
Comments: With current TM and coaching staff, it would not be easy to end up in the top 2 teams in 3rd round. We might actually end up playing in the 4th round. Knowing the fact that friendlies are hard to come by, I personally don't mind playing few more games in 4th round, even if it is with shitty teams!
Comments: I am not sure if all these investments in Israel are mainly for profit or making someone happy. There are many ways to invest. Is this amount a large portion of the whole investment? If anything above 10%, it is too much. Why not invest in American companies?
Comments: So UC has invested $32B in Israel

Comments: Jordan was a very strong team in the asian cup too. I think they lost with a cheat to ghatar n today they could have won with bigger margin https://youtu.be/4shbg6DYK9E
