Comments: Rashti jAn, hope all is well. I think it is genetics for both. At least that is what a nephrologist that I saw said. He had a lot of Iranian patients. :) He said to avoid kidney stones, the best thing to do is to have a glass of water before going to bed since most stones form at night time.
Comments: I know the healthcare here is messed up. They have some of the best doctors and hospitals but the system (insurance companies) have made it so hard to navigate. I don’t know much about Iran’s healthcare other than the time I spent with my dad during his illness and now my mom. They hardly ever complain about doctors but the issue they have is that seeing a good doctor is almost impossible. They are booked solid for months, maybe years. You need a connection. The other issue is availability of medication and medical devices. Newer medications are not available easily. If you are willing to pay, there is always a blank market!!! Also, most are worried about having a surgery as it could be delayed or cancelled due to lack of necessary equipment. Once again, there are very expensive (not compared to US but) hospitals which are fully private and the doctors working there are mostly US or EU educated who spent 1/3 of their time in Iran practicing medicine. It’s not for everyone or emergencies but with connection and some luck, it’s as good as anywhere. Overall, I agree that routine medical care is fine in Iran. More complicated medical needs could be a problem.
Comments: I agree, the swiss do not have finishers! |
