Humacyte (NASDAQ:HUMA) stock fell 18% in after-hours trading Friday after the company said the FDA has informed the company that it will need additional time to complete its review of the Biologics License Application for the acellular tissue engineered vessel, or ATEV, for the treatment of vascular trauma. The company said the agency apologized for the delay and has not yet issued a revised action date. The agency was originally expected to issue a decision on the application by Aug. 10. Humacyte said that based on its interaction with the FDA, it is confident about the approvability of the product for the vascular trauma indication.
Comments: According to a CNN report, Israeli intelligence believes that Hezbollah may launch an attack on Israel as early as August 12, with Iran possibly following up with a second wave of strikes shortly thereafter. Comments: Tehran: Iran's former foreign minister Javad Zarif, who negotiated a landmark 2015 nuclear deal with major world powers, on Monday announced he had resigned from his new post as vice president. "I resigned from the position of vice president for strategic affairs last week," Zarif said in a post on X, less than two weeks after the newly-elected reformist President Masoud Pezeshkian chose him as his deputy. Zarif cited several reasons for his resignation, most notably his disappointment with the line-up in the newly proposed 19-member cabinet. "I am ashamed that I could not implement, in a decent way, the expert opinion of the committees (responsible for selecting candidates) and achieve the inclusion of women, youth and ethnic groups, as I had promised," he said. Pezeshkian on Sunday presented his cabinet, which included one woman, to parliament for approval. The proposed list drew criticism from some among Iran's reformist camp, including over the inclusion of conservatives from the government of late President Ebrahim Raisi. Zarif pointed out that he also faced pressure after his appointment as vice president because his children hold US citizenship. "My message... is not a sign of regret or disappointment with dear Dr Pezeshkian or opposition to realism; rather it means doubting my usefulness as a vice-president for strategic affairs," he said, noting he would return to academia and focus less on Iran's domestic politics. Zarif, who was Iran's top diplomat between 2013 and 2021 in the government of moderate president Hassan Rouhani, became known on the international stage during the lengthy negotiations for the 2015 accord formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Comments: Aug 11 (Reuters) - The Israeli intelligence community believes Iran has decided to attack Israel directly and may do so within days, Axios reporter Barak Ravid said on Sunday, citing two sources. The attack would be in retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in late July, Ravid added. Israel has not claimed or denied responsibility for the killing.

Comments: Overall all this was a better than expected performance for Iran mainly due to TKW success. Iran got 12 medals distributed evenly in GR, FS wrestling and TKW. GR wrestling did as expected with 2G 1S and 1B. FS wrestling underperformed with 3S and 1 B. Yazadani and Zare were expeceted to get G instead of S. TKW did an outstanding job with 1G 2S and 1B and was the best team in Iran's caravan. Beside these 3 sports, for 2028 LA Olympics Iran needs to focus more on Weightlifting in both men and women. Also more investment in shooting can payoff with medals. Comments: Iran finished the Olympics by winning a B medal in 97K freestyle wrestling and that was over Karl Snyder last OL champions and Ameria's top wrestler. But they lost the G in 65 with to JAP wrestler. The JAP team had an outstanding performance in wrestling and topped both Iran and USA in the absence of RUS. That was unexpected!
Comments: کسب ۱۲ مدال به نسبت تعداد ورزشکاران اعزامی به پاریس (۴۰ نفر) مقبول است اما آنچه این عملکرد را از حالت قابل دفاع خارج میکند، دستیابی به مدالها تنها در سه رشته (با احتساب جداگانه کشتی آزاد و فرنگی) است. رشتههایی که همیشه مدال آور ورزش ایران در المپیک بودند و اینبار هم قاطعانه تر این مهم را به سرانجام رساندند. تیم ملی کشتی فرنگی ایران با ۶ سهمیه کامل راهی بازیهای المپیک شد و با کسب ۴ مدال تاریخ ساز شد و بهترین عملکرد را بین تیمهای حاضر از خود به جای گذاشت. تکواندو برای نخستین بار با چهار ورزشکار در دو بخش مردان و زنان ترکیب تیم اعزامی خود به المپیک را تشکیل داد و توسط هر چهار ورزشکار خود هم صاحب مدال شدند. مدالهایی که بعضاً ارزشی مضاعف هم داشتند چرا که یا با تاریخ سازی کسب شدند (نقره ناهید کیانی) و یا طلسم شکنی (طلای آرین سلیمی). کشتی آزاد هم اگرچه طلایی نشد اما با کسب ۴ مدال توسط پنج ورزشکار اعزامی خود به مدال آوری کاروان ایران کمک قابل توجهی کرد. کاروان ورزش ایران به لطف این رشتهها و مدیریت تخصصی آنها، مدالهای ارزشمندی در پاریس صاحب شد اما آنچه این عملکرد را قابل نقد میکند اینکه در مجموع فقط دو فدراسیون و سه رشته (با احتساب جداگانه کشتی آزاد و فرنگی) در مدال آوری نقش داشتند در حالیکه پیش از این فدراسیونهای بیشتری صاحب مدال المپیک میشدند.
