Comments: The problem is that the other big weapon Iran has is the economy. The big question is what do they do with Hormuz after the agreement? If they open it, US will stock up on oil and buy some time before attacking again when he has a few more missiles. There is no trust in Trump. I think the only assurance that is left is the destruction of oil facilities at the gas stations. Then it does not matter whether the strait is open or closed. If the idea is to end Trump and negotiate with someone else, this is the only way!

Comments: Iran and Oman are close to an agreement on how to manage the strait of Hormoz. The US is not directly involved in these talks but Oman will not agree to anything unless they have a green ight form the America side. Some details are reportedly as follows: 1. During a 30-60 day period both the northern and southern routes will operate. Ships will enter the Persian Gulf using the northern route and exit through the southern route. 2. After the end of this period both northern and southern routes will cease to operate and all ships will use a middle route to navigate the strait. Specifically ships will enter the Persian Gulf under Iranian control of this route and exit under joint Iranian and Omani management. 3. There is still some detailes to be worked out on the fee to be collected, Iran wants 7% but Oman wants 3%. This fee will include insurance, fueling charges and environmental costs. The main point for Iran is they get to control which ships enter the Persian Gulf. This means all American bases inside the Persian Gulf wil not be able to be re-supplied or seviced by American military ships and they have to rely on either air or other alternative routes.
