Comments: Faramarz, It seems youngsters in Iran celebrate all the American stuff like Halloween, Valentine’s Day and others. It’s not done only in private either. Shops and restaurants advertise and cater to them as well. Hijab seems to have become one area that government can’t fully regulate either. They tried with force and penalties. They will not stop anytime soon but Iranian ladies/girls will no longer just accept it. I was always for a deal with the west/world for Iran. I believe the only way to see a change is through a deal. Of course most of the money will go to top 1% but that would change the whole system as well. Major problem is that neither side wants this current arrangement to change drastically. IRI needs to remain in place for the East, the West and the middle to milk the region.

Comments: Zinsky that video is interesting I did not know they celebrate Halloween in Iran! The mall is near our house in Iran. I have been there several times. When videos like these came out, I remember shahollahies used to say IRI agents recorded these to pretend that hejab rules are relaxed. But when I was there, in all malls, this is how it was. Most did not wear a hejab. Some wore flimsier cloths than the norm here. But when they get out then they cover themselves. The one thing that was really surprising was the the concept of boyfriend and girlfriend is now accepted. They hold hands and walk very tight. In shah's era this was not yet accepted even though there were no rules against it (I think).
Comments: Maghsoud if I were IRI, I would by now have realized that the first Trump presidency was a missed opportunity and I could have gotten a lot from him. This time around, I would be looking for a deal with him. So, it is a possibility. It all depends on how desperate trump is. I think he is pretty desperate right now pulling stunts like riding in a garbage truck.

Comments: I am really surprised about the Valencia flash floods. The city has a giant canal running through it which is designed as a park but really is a giant drain for the water into the sea in cases such as this. It is hard to imagine that it rained so much that flooded over the wide and deep canal!
