Good to see you around Fred. Yes, a big week is one way of putting it. :)

I think the global consequences and the consequences to the national security of the United States will be huge. On the global stage, here are my expectations for the next four years:

1. Ukraine is hosed

2. Palestine is hosed (Gaza will become a resort town)

3. Iran (either war or a deal that benefits himself, Arabs, and israel) will be unclear but  none of the choices will be good for the people of Iran.

4. China will hugely benefit and get close to or pass US economy as #1.

5. Russia will hugely benefit also and this will go beyond eating up Ukraine

6. Nato I think is at a great risk of being dismantled or at least become irrelevant. European leaches may finally have to put up their own their own colonization forces together.

7. USA will have no secrets that Russia does not have. US secrete services all together (CIA, Secret Service, etc.) will be compromised for decades to come. Sleepers will be planted beyond those already exist. Israel already had these and Russia and China had some but Russia's sleepers will significantly increase.

8. US economy will be on a gradual decline. It will be milked for the interests of a few (Musk being one).

9. New global confrontations will emerge. I think Musk will push Trump to take China on in space. Musks' global satellite system has met with stiff objections from China. Before it was Must vs China. Now it will be the US government doing Musk's war bidding for him. 

10. Divestment in certain sectors, like Health (in particular infectious diseases), renewable energy, and a few other, purely out of revenge will lead to significant consequences to the environment and global health, in addition to USA falling behind many countries in these sectors losing significant global market share. We will have to see whether trump wants revenge in the AI sector (probably Gates and MSFT). If so, we will fall behind in AI to China as well.

11. All of this and the seeds of war that he will plant with his simple mind will lead to more global conflicts in the long run well beyond the next four years.

(I have not mentioned the social effects that he will have like rise of the Nazis here and abroad, etc.)
