By the way, Trump pulling out of WHO has huge global consequences.

WHO is the only organization that coordinates between different reference laboratories across the globe for all infectious diseases. They set the standards, make sure they are implemented correctly everywhere, and collect the results, compare them, help make local decisions when something is spreading, and send resources to poor countries when needed. Without the WHO, we will take many steps back in fighting many diseases, especially the infectious diseases.

Now a chunk of their budget comes from the US. With that money gone, one of few things can happen:

1. WHO will significantly shrink to a point where it is not relevant anymore, there wont be any global coordination to prevent disease, and we wont have epidemiological data to prioritize and combat anything.

2. Someone else can step in to lift the burden, like China. $12B is peanuts for them. Like in Trumps, first presidency, this will bring China closer to global leadership and filling in the political gaps that US withdrawal leaves globally.

3. US will create an alternative to the WHO.

I find #3 the least likely because a) Trump administration is only energized on revenge and money in their own pocket. This is neither. b) it goes against "America First" which has been translated into "America only"

I think #2 is the most likely which is the worst for the USA's positioning globally in the long run.

Mainly poor Americans living in RED states! I am totally for this. Let them realize why their insurance was so cheap and covered preventive care and didn't care for preexisting condition. 

Most don't even know where their insurance was coming from. Take it away and let them find out.
