I think IRI is opening a new economic front with hitting the ships. A few days ago they hit two ships half hour before the marker opened. It looked like it was mostly aimed at undoing Trump's market manipulation when he announced that Hormuz was open and US had total control. So, the market instead of jumping high had a much more moderate reaction and actually things went down a bit. But yesterday's hits came after the markets had opened and without any major trump announcements other than he was going to play it low key. 

This is significant, IMO. I think IRI is experimenting with its leverage over the market and has decided that if Trump is manipulating the markets why not them. GhAlibaf's stock advice is further evidence that they are very closely following the US markets. So, I think, if this drags on until 2029, Iran will start manipulating the market much like Trump has.

May be then US corporations will pay GhAlibAf $100K to get his early tweets. :)

This August is on pace to be the most expensive August ever for Americans at the fuel pump. The national average price of regular gas at the time of this writing is $4.07 a gallon, and according to the American Automobile Association, this is a record price for this day in history. While gas prices rose with the war in Iran, they did not reach the record levels we saw in 2022 after Russia attacked Ukraine. That does not mean you will spend less money on gas this year than you did in 2022, because while prices may not reach the peak high, they appear likely to stay elevated over a much longer period. This is due to the destruction of oil and gas infrastructure in both the Middle East and Russia.

Desperation is setting in! Keeping the waterway closed is simple. Every now and then shoot one or two missiles towards the ships and most, if not all, stop moving. That happened again today. Two UAE cargo ships were attacked.
The hard part is to try to keep it open/safe. One would need a massive presence all over the Persian Gulf to defend against missiles and clear mines daily.
US has asked for help with more naval forces from EU and the rest of the world but no one wants to send troops to the war zone they didn’t approve of or even consulted on! US is having a hard time with the existing ships and carriers as they have been sitting in the middle of the ocean for months without any break!
They also realize defending against missiles and drones are extremely costly even with unlimited supply which seems to be running out!
IRI, on the other hand, is willing to drag this as long as possible! They don’t care if people continue to suffer even more than before the war!

Iran is trying to show that things are back to normal by starting the league. I’m hoping it is back to what normal seems like these days.
Still, there are very few flights in and out of Iran. Let’s hope Iranians are felling the calm before the next storm!

A good discussion of what is happening inside Israel before their elections. It is really scary what is to come. Settlers will go into west bank along with IDF to create a disaster. This is the only way they think YAboo can win. YAboo also is doing all sorts of stuff including gerrymandering and creating new parties to make sure that if he does not win, no one else can. What a bullshit system. I feel so sorry for the Palestinians who are stuck in the middle with their lives on the palm of their hands. 😔

Siding with such an obviously genocidal regime just so that one maniac doesn't have to go to jail makes perfect sense. But I want to sit here until all is done. Then I want to go back home and take my vacations. In the mean time I will stay quiet about hundreds of thousands of people that will die only fuss about the 40+K. If I work it right, I might be able to up that number to 100K. And if IRI still remains afterwards, I will say oops.

The new PGL season starts tomorrow. The best thing about it is that there are no mercenary coaches in the league. All 18 teams have Iranian coaches!
