Comments: San Diego fire Department was amazing. They did not allow any of these fires to get big, stayed vigilant and killed all of them right away. 12 fires in two days is a lot in a parched region with such high winds. It could have meant a disaster for the whole city. They just let one of them burn since it started in the middle of nowhere near the border. That one is still going with 10% containment. But it will be knocked down by the rain, hopefully.
Comments: We had a rough week with high winds and 12 fires all starting since the inauguration. In one of the fires a fire fighter discovered an underground cement bunker built equipped with solar panels and everything. Quickly they tried to pin it on the immigrant homeless population. But it was obvious this was not true. First, the homeless are mostly white or military veterans. Second a poor homeless immigrant would not have access to all the equipment including solar panels. It is unclear whether this was related to the start of the fire or not. It is disturbing, regardless. I think it probably belongs to one of the disturbed conspiracy theorists who believes the end of the world is coming very soon.

Comments: Much needed rain in SoCal is expected today through Sunday. I certainly hope it helps put out the fires and reduce the chance of new ones in near future.
Comments: Well, the consequence of not having any qualifications for the highest job in the land is that now that job is replacing all the positions in the government that report to him with loyalists rather than experts in the needed domains. So, the highest job in the land is systematically reshaping everything through replacement of merit with loyalty. This is trickling down through the all ranks of government this time around. It is much more expansive than the first round. But this isn't stopping at the executive branch. This rewriting of the American system is also being done in the judiciary and the legislative branches, melting the whole thing into a single branch all of which report to a single individual. Now, he also has big money supporting him on this. In the face of stiff competition with the Chinese, I see the horizon for this country as grim.  Today in a call between Rubio and his counter part, the Chinese told Rubio that he better know his place.
Comments: Unfortunately, elected officials in this country are getting dumber and dumber each year. It’s a combination of money buying politicians who are easily manipulated and the fact that voters are get dumber and dumber as well. In democracy, people get what they deserve.

Comments: I was invited to a very high level meeting to begin on January 29th in London. They spent a year to plan for this meeting and deciding whom to invite and clearing all those people's calendars. Fortunately, they had paid my ticket as a speaker and so, nothing out of my pocket. But hundreds of people have paid for airfare, hotel, etc. and made all sorts of arrangements to clear their schedules. Are they going to reimburse all these people? This is insane!

My fear was that the market would be volatile with the Orange Village Idiot (OVI) creating new instability every day. The market is jittery these days. Bitcoin was projected to be +$150K by now but he keeps promoting and then undermining it. Today RGTI is acting on its own and not following the market. Can't complain. Got many Soltani's (including the offer from Faramarz) out of it. Although with patience I could have had egg yolk and extra tomato on them and then some. Oh well. Lesson learnt "Don't doubt Zinsky and follow his advice".
