There was this big discussion about when people can rebuild their homes in LA. I believe it started when Trump visited LA and sat down with the mayor.
I’m not sure if speed is the main issue, or is it? Starting right away seems like a bad idea. 1st of all, building over burned building needs a lot of work. They can’t just do that with all the hazardous materials after a massive fire. 2nd, they should truly build these homes better. Fires are fact of life in SoCal. They should not build them with the same materials.

San Diego fire Department was amazing. They did not allow any of these fires to get big, stayed vigilant and killed all of them right away.  12 fires in two days is a lot in a parched region with such high winds. It could have meant a disaster for the whole city. They just let one of them burn since it started in the middle of nowhere near the border. That one is still going with 10% containment. But it will be knocked down by the rain, hopefully.
