On Monday morning, the United States Navy began escorting commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. By Tuesday afternoon, the operation had been paused.
President Donald Trump announced the reversal on Truth Social, citing the “request of Pakistan and other Countries” and “great progress” towards a “complete and final agreement” with Iran.

Iran war day 68: Trump talks about progress in talks; Rubio says war ‘over’
Earlier on Tuesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared that Operation Epic Fury, the air and naval campaign launched on February 28, was “concluded”.
What Washington now sought, he said, was a “memorandum of understanding for future negotiations”.
For weeks, that is precisely what Iran has been demanding.
In proposals passed on to the US through Pakistan, Iran has in recent weeks sought multistage negotiations, with a preliminary deal aimed at ending the war, and negotiations on the White House’s demands that Tehran end its nuclear programme pushed for later.
Trump and his administration resisted, with the US president insisting that getting Iran to give up its nuclear programme was central to any deal with Tehran.
Now, the US appears to have come around to accepting Iran’s demand, say experts. On Wednesday, the Reuters news agency and the US publication Axios reported that the US and Iran were close to agreeing to a one-page MoU to end the war, even though there have been no detailed negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear programme.
Seyed Mojtaba Jalalzadeh, an international relations analyst based in Tehran, said the week’s diplomatic signals reflected a sober reassessment in Washington of what was achievable.

Iran has set up a formal email system for any ships trying to pass through the Hormuz strait. In the reply they will get thhe rules and terms of an agreement. I sent them an email but no response yet!

Ships intending to transit the strait receive an email from info@PGSA.ir informing them of the transit regulations. They then adjust to the framework and receive a transit permit.

Newsmax reporter to Hegseth: ‘When did the president decide to capitulate?’
I think, a central default that has occurred here, and I would like you both to address it,” he added. “On the first day of this conflict, President Trump addressed the Iranian people directly and said, ‘when we’re finished, take over your government. It’ll be yours to take.’ And then on the seventh day of the conflict, in a Truth Social post, the president said, ‘There will be no deal with Iran except’ all caps, exclamation mark ‘UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!’”
Rosen continued: “What happens to that pledge to the Iranians? And when did the president decide to capitulate on his demand for unconditional surrender?”

I think we have not yet seen the effects of the war in US other than the higher gas prices. Just like Spirit Airlines, many others are going to fall. I also think we will start seeing famine all across Africa and may be even some other parts of the world. I think the economic consequences of this war will be very far reaching.

One more thought about the video that Farhad posted: We have so many great leaders in the society to lead the people and yet they have almost no voice. For 47 years we have been barking up the same dried up RPG tree, crushing all other leadership voices. [mad]

Farhad jAn, as an Azeri, i also feel insulted when people bring up the Tajziye talabs in AzarbaijAn. As the video that you posted says it clearly, Kords, Azaris, and every ethnic group in today's Iran has played a significant role in the creation of the country, Iran. We are all the founding fathers. If a small group within us is willing to take a bribe and say otherwise, it should be concerning but should never be representative of the whole ethnic group. I can speak to the point of Azaris whose great majority are proud Iranians.

I think the majority of people who fell for the Israeli propaganda that this war would last a few days to a few weeks are outside of Iran. This includes of course a lot of Iranians but also includes people like Trump. He too was duped into thinking this. The great majority of people inside Iran, and all of my relatives (including those who are in favor of a royal dynasty to take over - not necessarily RPG), believed that regime change would not happen with war and that if it started it would last months, if not years.

I, for one, have to admit that I did not expect IRI's military prowess to be this strong. I would have never imagined a scenario in which the mighty US navy would be scared of coming into the Persian gulf and be parked way out closer to the Indian Ocean. This is just amazing to me.

So, now, my expectation is that this war will continue for months. And that unfortunately, there is a better than 50% chance for a nuclear attack. Even then, I do not believe that regime change will happen. There will just be a lot of death. And all the GCC countries would turn into ash.

Getting less and less calls/massages from Iran. It seems the cost for calls and VPN has gone up drastically.
There is a pain and desperation in the voices. Everyone is trying to put up a brave faces but things are bad and getting worse. Majority didn’t expect this war and its aftermath last this long, for whatever reason! Everyone was talking about a week or two of war and better days ahead.
Shortage of essentials including food and fuel is being felt. Prices have gone up by nearly 100% since the war started. Lots of places who were card only for the transactions are having a hard time with the internet and are going back to cash. Of course, most people don’t hold cash these days and ATMs are not giving out enough cash, if any, for basic goods. Going in the bank is also not as useful as they only give small amounts of cash daily.
They are preparing for another wave of attacks in coming days.
