Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that 18 individuals had been arrested on suspicion of arson, adding that one of them was caught "in the act" on Thursday afternoon at the International Bible Quiz.
However, police sources told N12 on Thursday that they were surprised by this assertion, as they were only aware of three confirmed arrests.

On other news, Persepolis is ahead 3-0 in a game that means very little since they screwed up and gave away the title.

It seems there was (still are) wild fires in Israel. It also seems they were intentionally started. Of course the weather was ripe for this. Was it political or not? I don’t know. Fires in US are mostly man made but the reasons are not clear either.
Israel likes to blame and others like to take credit.

I must admit that I have been busy with duties for NIH and been completely detached from the recent news. So, I apologize for the stupid questions.

1. So, I gather there are fires now in Israel? Is this right?
2. Was this in retaliation for the port in Bandar Abbas?

Israel always derails any peace talks and keeps people of Iran with the false hope of Reza jighil rescuing them. This has been going on for the past 46 years. With a peace treaty and integration of the country in the global economy by now a lot would have changed about IRI from inside without a violent regime change.

Oh oh!!!

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Planned negotiations between Iran and the United States this weekend over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program have been postponed, Oman announced Thursday.

A message online from Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi made the announcement in a post on the social platform X.

“For logistical reasons we are rescheduling the US Iran meeting provisionally planned for Saturday May 3rd,” he wrote. “New dates will be announced when mutually agreed.”

Al-Busaidi, who has mediated the talks through three rounds so far, did not elaborate. Iran and the U.S. did not immediately acknowledge al-Busaidi’s comments.

The talks Saturday were to be held in Rome, which soon will see the Vatican begin the conclave on Wednesday to pick a new pope after the death of Pope Francis. Two other rounds of talks have been held in Muscat, the capital of Oman.

The talks seek to limit Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of some of the crushing economic sanctions the U.S. has imposed on the Islamic Republic closing in on a half-century of enmity. The negotiations have been led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff.

U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to unleash airstrikes targeting Iran’s program if a deal isn’t reached. Iranian officials increasingly warn that they could pursue a nuclear weapon with their stockpile of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels.

Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers did limit Tehran’s program. However, Trump unilaterally withdrew from it in 2018, setting in motion years of attacks and tensions. The wider Middle East also remains on edge over the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the U.S. continues an airstrike campaign, called “Operation Rough Rider,” that has been targeting Yemen's Houthi rebels, who long have been backed by Iran.

Saturday's round of talks also took place as an explosion rocked an Iranian port, killing at least 70 people and injuring more than 1,000 others.

What kind of aircraft? Is this related to the arsen?

McKinsey Global Research estimated that Iran could add $1 trillion to its GDP and create 9 million jobs within 20 years of the agreement going into effect if it pursued structural reforms and attracted investment.

Iran’s economy produced $434 billion worth of goods and services in 2024. But when adjusted for local prices and living costs – a measure known as Purchasing Power Parity – Iran’s GDP jumps to $1.7 trillion. The big gap between the two numbers reflects how small Iran’s economy looks from the outside due to its weak currency and international sanctions.

That gap is where the untapped opportunity lies, according to Bijan Khajehpour, managing partner of the Vienna-based Eurasian Nexus Partners, a consulting firm. International companies can help fill the gap and benefit from it, he said.

That prospect may be tempting for American firms, but past experience and current realities suggest doing business in Iran won’t be easy. Even if a new nuclear deal is reached, it won’t automatically open the door for US companies.
