Comments: Reza I had a similar experience. At the airport in Warsaw this older polish couple were sitting in front of us waiting for their flight. They were having some dried fruit. Just like in Iran, they offered it to us and insisted until we took some. For a minute, it felt like I was sitting in Tabriz airport. They too are big on dried fruit.

Comments: Iran’s government cut off the country from the internet and international telephone calls Thursday night as a nighttime demonstration called by the country’s exiled crown prince drew a mass of protesters to shout from their windows and storm the streets. The protest represented the first test of whether the Iranian public could be swayed by Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, whose fatally ill father fled Iran just before the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. Demonstrations have included cries in support of the shah, something that could bring a death sentence in the past but now underlines the anger fueling the protests that began over Iran’s ailing economy.

Comments: Iranian authorities appeared to be cutting off internet access Thursday in the capital and some other regions of the country as mass protests and chanting against the government continue. Multiple sources in Tehran told CBS News the internet was down in the capital. The NetBlocks monitoring organization said at about 8:30 local time in Iran that its live data "show #Iran is now in the midst of a nationwide internet blackout; the incident follows a series of escalating digital censorship measures targeting protests across the country and hinders the public's right to communicate at a critical moment."
Comments: As expected, internet in Iran is getting slower and slower. I tried FaceTime, Telegram and WhatsApp today and no luck! Tried multiple times till I reached the family. |
