Comments: Zinsky, you asked me if I was in Iran at the time of revolution. I was not. I came to US in 1977. But I was misled like many hoping for a better Iran and was a supporter of the revolution from afar. I was not politically involved with any movement or groups. In late 1979, I decided to attend UCLA Iranian political gathering and right then I saw the mistake of the movement and became anti-IRI. The whole meeting was about smearing others, eliminating different ideologies and labeling anybody they did not like as spies. That was the last meeting I attended. I see the same type of attitude from Shahollahis. I think once IRI is overthrown the streets in in Iran will reject Monarchy or any one-man rule (فرد محور). They know that it will lead to corruption and power grabbing no matter how good the person is (or says) at the beginning. Remember that there are a lot of internal opposition with clout in prisons that can voice their thoughts once freed that can alter the course. US and Israel would of course want their RP puppet in there and will do everything in their power.

Repeated gunfire could be heard for minutes in cellphone video sent to Iranian TV and shared with Fox News Digital as Iran’s State Security Forces clashed with so-called "rebellious youth." In the video, people on the streets were seen running and shouts of "Death to Khamenei!" "Death to the dictator!" "Shame on you!" and "We are all together!" could be heard. The protests entered their 14th day on Saturday, with 65 killed, including children, and 2,311 arrested by Friday, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran. Authorities imposed a sweeping internet blackout this week that largely cut the country off from the outside world and escalated threats of harsh punishment while anti-regime protests spread.

Comments: Last time same happened and some people flew to Baku, Yerevan , or Van, Turkey and then drove to Iran. The best is Baku to Astara and it is only 3 hours.

Comments: I called the Turkish airline and told them I’ll be using the US to Turkey portion. You are correct, they usually don’t like to do that but due to circumstances, they said fine. Of course, if flights assume to Tehran, I need to buy a separate ticket! At this stage, I’m ok with some extra cost. They also mentioned that there are flights to Tehran via Iranair or the other one called Iranair tour. It might or might not be available but flying as of today, apparently! |
