The VB boys finally ran out of good luck charm and lost to the Czechs. Getting to the last 8 was a good achievement for this young team.
They are not quite ready for prime time yet but if the coach stays and brings in some of the U21 talent from the last 2 championships they can go places in time for the 2028 Olympics [biggrin]

That’s a complete fabrication. Let me tell you how you can tell. If and when a single plane touches down in Iran, there will be fanfare from this MoFos in Iran saying we are strengthening our defenses. It will be public spectacle. None of that has happened and if you read NewsWeek article it does say Russia has not confirmed this, ie it’s all hot air

Russian MiG-29 fighter jets have touched down in Iran, giving the country’s aging air force a short-term boost amid escalating Middle East tensions, an Iranian lawmaker said Tuesday.

Abolfazl Zohrevand, a member of parliament’s National Security Committee, called the MiG-29s a “short-term solution” while Tehran awaits the more advanced Sukhoi Su-35 jets, signaling a broader push to strengthen its military capabilities.

به گزارش خبرنگار مهر، روبرتو پیاتزا سرمربی تیم ملی والیبال ایران پس از حذف از رقابت‌های قهرمانی جهان در مرحله یک چهارم نهایی با شکست مقابل تیم جمهوری چک گفت: ما باید در بخش ذهنی رشد کنیم و من از قبل می‌دانستم و الان هم می‌دانم. ولی این کافی نیست.
وی گفت: باید بخش فنی را بهبود بدهیم، ما باید در سرویس و همه بخش‌ها بهتر باشیم. مهمترین چیز در بازی وقتی جلو هستیم این است که باید توانایی تمام کردن بازی را داشته باشیم. این درس را باید تک تک بازیکنان بفهمند.
سرمربی تیم ملی والیبال عنوان کرد: به نظرم آنها سزاوار بودند چون بازی فوق‌العاده انجام دادند. من به بازیکنانم خیلی افتخار می‌کمک چون تیم کاملاً جدیدی هستند. می‌دانم که باید خیلی کار کنیم.
وی گفت: وقتی تصمیم گرفتم هدایت این تیم را برعهده بگیرم برای من هیجان‌انگیز بود. الان هم هیجان‌زده هستم چون استعدادهای زیادی در اختیار دارم و امکان رسیدن به هیچ هدفی وجود ندارد.
پیاتزا تاکید کرد: ما باید سخت کار کنیم و شرایط سختی را هم ایجاد کنیم و باید در همان زمان در زمین صبور و قوی باشیم.
پیاتزا تاکید کرد: باید صادق بود؛ تیم چک والیبال بسیار خوبی ارائه داد و شایسته پیروزی بود، اما از منظر فنی، همان اشتباه کل رقابت را تحت تأثیر قرار داد.
وی تصریح کرد: گام نخست ما با امتیاز پایانیِ بسیار مهم در ست آخر بازی برابر فیلیپین برداشته شد؛ هرچند می‌دانیم فیلیپین در زمره تیم‌های طراز اول جهان قرار ندارد. در ادامه، مقابل صربستان بهترین نمایش خود را ارائه دادیم.
سرمربی تیم ملی والیبال ایران با تأکید بر ضرورت اصلاح رویکرد ذهنی بازیکنان، ادامه داددر مقاطعی تمرکزمان بیش از اندازه روی حریف بود و نه روی خودمان. قصد داریم این الگو را به‌طور کامل تغییر دهیم؛ باید تمرکز را بر تیم خود بگذاریم، جسور باشیم و هر روز بهتر شویم. این مسیر، کلید آینده تیم ملی است.
