It’s funny how we went from an open SOH to negotiating its opening after 2.5 months of war. Basically, US is negotiating what was already a non issue and they fucked it up!
I think a deal will be made but not what Trump is trying to get. We will go back to early March of this year and pay Iran $ billions to go back to what it was before!!! Nuclear issues are not being discussed at this time. And I believe Iran will charge a fee for the ships but call it an insurance fee rather than toll! Either way, Iran found a new source of income without giving up anything!

Iran has poured cold water on suggestions that a deal with the US is imminent, pointing to the confusion in US positions and Israeli interference as key factors in why a complete agreement is proving difficult to secure. Speaking at the weekly foreign ministry press briefing, Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s negotiating team, also said future management of the strait of Hormuz was a matter for Oman and Iran to reach agreement on, and that it was not tolls that were being proposed but “fees for navigational services”. Referring to the state of the talks, Baghaei said: “It is correct to say that we have reached a conclusion on a large portion of the issues under discussion. But to say that this means the signing of an agreement is imminent – no one can make such a claim.”

The United States and Iran have agreed in principle to a deal that would wind down the war in the Middle East by reopening the Strait of Hormuz and by committing Iran to dispose of its highly enriched uranium, a senior U.S. official told reporters on Sunday.
Iran’s leaders or official state media have not publicly commented on what is in any potential agreement or what is being discussed. The U.S. official said a deal had not yet been signed and was still subject to final approval from President Trump and Iran’s supreme leader, which could take days.
The senior U.S. official said the mechanism by which Iran would dispose of its highly enriched uranium was still being negotiated. Mr. Trump has insisted that the United States seize the material as part of his vow to curb Iran’s nuclear program.
News of a possible deal came after a roller-coaster few weeks, with Mr. Trump at times threatening to restart attacks on Iran, and at others saying there was progress in last-ditch negotiations to stave off a return to full-scale war — all while offering few details. Then, on Saturday, the president announced on social media that the two countries had “largely negotiated” a memorandum of understanding “pertaining to PEACE.”
On Sunday, however, he said he had ordered his negotiators “not to rush into a deal.”
If a deal were certified, Mr. Trump said in his social media post on Sunday, the United States could end its blockade of Iranian ports, which it had used to pressure Tehran to reopen the strait.
Over the last 24 hours, both American and Iranian officials have emphasized the concessions they hoped to secure.
Three Iranian officials said on Saturday that a potential deal would stipulate only that nuclear matters would be negotiated within 30 to 60 days. Like the U.S. official, they spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss the sensitive subject.
U.S. and Iranian officials have said any agreement would be an initial framework that would lead to further negotiations, rather than the last word.
The possible deal does not address Iran’s supply of missiles nor does it stipulate a moratorium on enrichment, the U.S. official said on Sunday. Those issues would be addressed in future negotiations, the official said. In previous rounds of negotiations, the United States has sought at least a 20-year commitment.
For Mr. Trump, a deal with Iran could offer a path to ending the turmoil wrought by the war, which began in late February when the United States and Israel attacked Iran. The conflict has killed thousands, rattled global energy markets and been broadly unpopular among the American public.

Following a call with several Middle Eastern leaders Friday afternoon, President Trump said that a peace deal with Iran had been "largely negotiated," but noted that "Final aspects and details of the Deal" were "currently being discussed and will be announced shortly."
Mr. Trump told CBS News earlier Saturday that negotiators for U.S. and Iran are "getting a lot closer" to finalizing an agreement between the two countries with the latest proposal including a process to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the unfreezing of some Iranian assets held in foreign banks, and a continuation of negotiations.
The Trump administration on Friday was preparing for a fresh round of military strikes against Iran, according to sources with direct knowledge of the planning, even as diplomacy continued on a potential peace deal.
