Was this the last item to lose to the chinese. The fact that UAE, a staunch nokar of the US is making the Chinese vaccine available rather than the American one speaks volumes. The fact that the Chinese developed such a vaccine so quickly and were able to distribute it world-wide ahead of american companies is just amazing to me. Is America becoming a second world country?
Comments: Zinsky jAn, regarding your comment about Trump and him turning this country into a third world country, I heard stuff on NPR that would make this much worse than a third world country is they came true. They were talking about the security of the inauguration, and one guy who was in charge of the security was mentioning that the rioters are less of a concern now. The biggest concern that they have is internal security. He went on to explain that some members of the congress and senators have insisted on bearing fire arms on the floor of the congress. This has been going on for years now. This in itself is amazing to me. So, he said they have no choice but designate secure rooms for people to escape to in such eventuality. He said, they could not guarantee that internal security will not be bridged! Comments: Faramarz, thanks... Non citizens in UAE are getting the Chinese vaccine. I’m not sure what the citizens are getting. My cousin and her family received the Chinese vaccine last week. In America, we might get 2-3 additional vaccines but distribution has been a problem. I like to blame it on Trump administration and say with Biden in charge things will improve but I’m not sure...

The university actually has paid for the attorneys and patents processes and has helped significantly is starting up our company. So, everything is cristal clear on all sides.
Comments: Keefer jAn, on your antibody treatment question, yes, you are correct, this approach is promising with one important caveat. It is hypothesized that the new variants, especially the one out of England that is more virulent emerged as a result of antibody treatment. This may or may not be true. The science on this is yet to come. But the potential is real. Even if this new variant is not a result of antibody treatment, the potential of such treatment to cause/select for variants that have a sufficiently different antigen so to make the antibody treatment ineffective is there. If all this pans out as we expect, we will then enter an era of constant antibody development and viral evolution that will cause resistance to such treatments. Much like antibiotics and antibiotic resistance in bacteria.
