Comments: Oman's match begins in a few minutes. If they lose then CQ is available for new employment. At this point with less than 300 days to the start of WC it would be a mistake to go out and find a brand new mercenary coach for TM. CQ is the only one that can be useful for TM since he knows Iran's football and has vast experience working with the players and the federation. The only question is in what capacity would he be used? I think GN would be very happy if CQ is willing to join him in some capcaity either as a defensive coordinator or a co-manager. Or he can become the technical director of the team and identify new talent. At any rate, I don't mind CQ sitting on Iran's bench in some capacity for the 4th straight WC not only for his technical abilities but also because he usually speaks his minds and will give the Yankees a hard time if they try any hankp panky with TM in WC

Comments: By teh way, if you wish to see changes in this team, the coach will have to change because GN will be going with the same formation and strategy into every game in the WC.
Comments: Our D mids, defensive scheme, and a plan for defenders was entirely missing. No team could take a shot from that distance against CQ's team. A lot of Beiro's shining before was because very few shots came at our goal. In Ghandali's team a 20 year old scores against a team of 30 year olds from 30 meters out.
Comments: Groups are easier now with 64 teams and they should advance by their ranking. My prediction is that this team will be last in the group and get eliminated right away losing to teams at the level of Bahrain.

Comments: TM had a lot of issues today. Binavand is not at its best and can’t kick the ball straight anywhere! Lots of mistakes. Defense is weak and not anywhere near ready. The short passes back in our half is at best 50/50. They either lose the ball, kick it out or just waste any chances. Midfielders are not covering the middle and won’t feed the offense regularly and accurately. The offense is not the same without Sardar and Taremi seems less effective these days. We have few youngsters who can fill the gap in offense. This team will do nothing to be proud of in the WC. They will play 3 games as usual and pack their bags to go home.
