Comments: Yeah that is a legitimate concern. I wonder how many of the firms that handle the big retirement investments have been involved with controlling the market over the past years. The unfortunate fact is that since markets are controlled for self benefit, I doubt that the controls are used for the benefit of the retirees. So, as sad as it may sound, and as many market crash and upswings have shown, retirement accounts stand more to lose when things are going down and little to gain when things are going up. So, I fear hat the retirement accounts have been trusted to the thieves to begin with. They use the money to rob many middle class individual investors for little benefit of the retirees but huge personal/company gains.

Comments: I suspect that an element of politics may be in this as well. Could it be that trump supporters are trying t crash the market for Joe?
Comments: Now all the big firms are spreading the rumor that the market is in a bubble and will crash, trying to scare people out of the market and save their short trades. Still if you look at the gamestop prices, they are high again today in spite of the crashing market. :)
Comments: I am not sure whether you guys have noticed the stock market the past few days but something interesting has been taking place. Traditionally, big pockets have been driven the markets and with the giant pots that they have, hey raised the price of any stock they wanted to or lowered it by dumping a ton of shares back into the market. So, they had the control levers firmly in their hand. Now, a bunch of tik tokkers are presenting a challenge to the giant corporations. ![[smile]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif "Smile - :)") They are referred to as the chatroom traders. Using cheap money borrowed, they gang up together and all decide to buy a stock or dump it. They seem to be aiming at big corporations. A good example is Gamestop stocks. Big corps are trying to short it, basically betting that it will drop. But chatroom investers have driven its price 350% up, killing all the big name shorters. We will have to see how Wallstreet will deal with this. It is killing he big names. :)
