Comments: This reality was underscored in an interview given by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2017, to the French newspaper Le Figaro. “I have already spoken to three US presidents. They come and go, but politics stay the same at all times. Do you know why?” Putin asked. “Because of the powerful bureaucracy. When a person is elected, they may have some ideas. Then people with briefcases arrive, well dressed, wearing dark suits, just like mine, except for the red tie, since they wear black or dark blue ones. These people start explaining how things are done. And instantly, everything changes. This is what happens with every administration.”
Comments: The reality is that there is no difference between the foundational policy objectives of Trump and Biden, or for that matter between any US president and another. For anyone occupying the White House, the world is always viewed through a US-centric lens which operates on the premise that what is good for the US, as the world’s indispensable power, is good for the rest of the world. Even when it isn’t.
Comments: In terms of foreign policy, I was not expecting anything different from Biden or any other president. As long as jewish lobby selects who should go into congress, this is how it is going to be. I think it is naive to think that Palestinians or Iran will get better treatment from Democrats, be it Carter, Hossein, or Biden. Foreign policy is settled elsewhere.
Comments: حرف_قطعی Aziz, I really think that one of the reason why this is a F'd up way of selecting a President is that the qualification of the candidate for the job is completely irrelevant. Surely, just because he can raise money cannot be all that is required. If the argument is that his advisors will inform him, then the question is who picks the advisors? Who has the final say? If that is all the President, then it is meaningless to have informed advisors. They will get fired in favor of those who agree with the president.
