Now to the sweet subject of coaches. I do not think there is such a thing as a good coach. There is always the question of the right coach. Who is the right coach for a given team, given the set of players and the circumstances around a team including the politics of the team and in general. CQ is a defensive organizational master. He will not be successful for the top teams. But he is the right choice for teams that are clearly underdogs. This means that Iran with CQ at helm with Iran will never do well against weaker teams. He will win with a small margin or even some times tie when unlucky. But he is the right coach for Iran in the WC. When we get there, We will be placed in a group with two top teams. We need to upset at least one, not lose too badly to the other and beat the third team to have a chance to go up to the next round. So, I think CQ is the perfect coach for us in the WC. a coach like the current mercenary, will do well in this initial stage, especially in such a weak group. But when in WC, the team will crap. Remember the 8-0 beating of SA by Germany? We will not lose by that much to anyone, but will lose to the top two teams and have no chance of advancing in the WC.

1. He would bitch and moan endlessly about not getting the players 3 weeks before the matches. Not having any friendlies. And not having a  camp in some resort area in Europe.

2. He would come up with 2 or maximum 4 points from the 2 matches and then tell the fans: "That's the reality of Iranian football, Korea and Japan are 25 years ahead of Iran".

CQ leaves TM
Narrative: TM will go back 10 years. We will become a 2nd rate Asian team.

Wilmots becomes TM coach and initially gets some good results.
Narrative: This is a continuation of the legacy that CQ has left behind. He built this team.

3 days later TM loses to Bahrain and then shortly after another loss to Iraq.
Narrative: Like we said from the beginning, once CQ left we were going back 10 years and becoming a 2nd rate Asian team.

Skocic joins TM and gets 9 wins in 9 matches.
Narrative: This is CQ’s team. This is a continuation of the legacy that he has left behind. He built this team : D

I have not seen the game yet, but the high score is surprising to me. It sounds like Iraq's new coach is not familiar with the persian gulf arab games. They are mostly about kharab kardan bazi harif. He may have tried to actually play and open game against us!
