Comments: By the way, speaking on international football, if you guys want to see a good game, watch Egypt against SAhel Aj. It was one hell of a game. I hope these teams do well in the World Cup. Ivory Coast is loaded with players who play in top tier European clubs. It was a great game. I wont tell you the score and you should not google it either. Just find the game and watch it.

Comments: Shahryar jAn, we have been enjoying Observer's and lol's (the original) "cold" comments for some time now. At times they feel like a cold shower. Make you look at things from a hole different angle.

Comments: Tabreek be Doostane Aziz, va be tamame Iraniha; we are once again in the World Cup; the third time in a row (this is a first).
I agree that we could perhaps rest some of our players; EXCEPT; we have to make sure we win all remaining games, especially against Korea. We should keep in mind that "FIFA Ranking" is critical in our placement in Groups. The higher we are, the better our chances to get weaker teams in our group.
So, let's rest some players if needed, but not at the expense of losing (or drawing) any of the remaining games.
Raramarz JAn and Keefer Jan; thank you :)

Comments:
I feel good for the guy and it would be disappointing to see him dethroned. From what I hear from you guys though he's not very strategically capable and like Faramarz alluded to it would lead us to "an early exit" from the big dance. It is really about the time for TM to clime out of, at least, the first round. Then again looking at how things are run by IFF and personnel I sit down on my chair quietly.

Comments: I agree JB was the MOM even though Taremi scored and was given the award. This was JB's best game ever for TM.
Overall Iran is playing a lot more attaractive football than it in the past decade.
And IRI not only let women in but transgenders too.

Comments: By the way, I thought the man of the match today was JB. He has become a great distributing attacking midfielder. He created so many chances, one of which became the one goal.
For the next three teams, I would not invite Taremi, SardAr, and may be even JB. I would try to field mostly bench players. I bet you that they too would win all their three games. This group is quite weak.

Comments: Faramarz jan thanks for your detail, in depth and wonderful analysis. It is very educational.
It is good to hear from Agha Shahryar, a long time principle participant of IFP. Thank you gentlemen for the comments. Not much of reporting from me, just one liners . I am too emotional to be able to report a game methodical.

Comments: Bah Sharyar jAn welcome back! Long time!
And, yes Keefer jAn. Mamnoon for the reporting. I also read your reports for the last 30 minutes of the game.
01/27/22
Comments: Keefer jAn, I also missed the ending because I had to head to the lab. But here is how I see it as compared to the CQ time:
1. Talent: This team is much superior. Even the players who were there during CQ era are much more pokhteh and some (Taremi and SardAr) are now established international stars. At that time we hoped TAremi woudl rise to the occasion, but really was more like Arash Borhani or Morata of Spain than say Ali Daei or Ronaldo. Now he is more like the latter group and with cool head to finish his chances.
2. Style of play: In terms of the style, many players are still those from CQ's team, and they still play his style of the game when facing a tough team. But this is in bits and pieces. I have not seen a new style that I could say is Skocic.
3. Defense: Defensively we are distinctively weaker than before. Our defensive scheme is no longer there and even the Rigoo Iraq had three very good chances against us. With CQ we would go games long without such chances.
4. Midfield: We have better players now with JB and Ghodus. But they are not used together. Today, there was a period of bright interaction between the two. This created many one on one chances. In general, I would say our midfield is the weakest line up. Part of this is because we do not have two more players in the caliber of JB and Ghodus to complement them. But the problem here are even bigger. The challenge is that either because of politics or some crap feud between Skocic and CQ, or something else, players like Ghodus sit on the bench when we bring in obviously inferior players to play. So, we are not even fielding our strongest line up.
5. Forwards: Forward line up is far stronger than before with SardAr and TAremi being much better than what they were a few years ago.
Overall: Our biggest weaknesses are complete lack of strategy and insufficient midfield. These two combined will have us go to the WC purely because of the players. But once there, we will have a quick exit. We just wont have the strategy to go up against two, possibly three top teams in our group.

Comments: Thank you Keefer JAn for the reports; I could not see the game and I was relying on your input, which were great ![Thumb - :thumb: [thumb]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif)
A "Win" is a win, but 1-0 against such a depleted Iraqi team seems insufficient. I know that TM always rises to the occasion, and today, they had little incentive to rise, although one could argue that qualifying for the World Cup should be a great incentive.
Anyway, thanks again to you and Faramarz khan for your reports.

Comments: Faramarz I know you are working but when you have time how do you see it? The CQ era leftover, the number of stars available to us today, and or the current coach and staff. Talking about the contributing factor(s).
