Comments: Faramarz JAn, Please feel free share our thoughts, with anyone whom you see fit. I believe it is too late to change our coach and if we do, it has a lot of backlash. The new coach will have to be either CQ (not possible), or someone even better. But I doubt that we can attract someone that good at this late stage. Therefore, we are stuck with what we have. I just hope that our football leadership efforts are not being undermined by any governmental agencies or by politics. Maybe we can have a friendly with Egypt; I am sure CQ will be in favor of it; unless we end up in the same group as Egypt, which is actually very likely.

Comments: Observer, Canada has some athletic players. Not sure whether they are imported or home grown. They probably will qualify but not much else is decided for the rest of the teams. US, Mexico, and Panama are within one point of each other and they will play each other. So, it is possible that the US does not make it at all. It will depend on which of the three teams will pick themselves up. I think Mexico will but hard to tell between Panama and US. US looked pretty bad today.

Comments: Shahryar jAn, thank you for saying that. I feel the same way about the current coach. Aside from technical aspects, I feel that one of his weaknesses is particularly harmful to us. CQ used is strong headed and went head to head with the federation and demanded things for his team and players. This coach is a yes man. He just does what IFF is told. So, I fear that with this characteristic, we will have one of the worst preparations. Forget about a long-term vision. We will not have any meaningful preparatory games and the remaining games, we will barely squeak by. So, unless those five teams that you mentioned go through a spectacular demise, I do not see us making it into the top 16. Even if they do, we forget about those that are ranked below us. 22-27. It is far more likely that some of these will make it to the world cup and because of the better and many preparatory games, will pass us in the ranking.
Comments: Keefer, Reaching the 16th-place ranking is certainly within out reach, but in order to achieve that, we need to "Step Up". This includes that we have to have both short-term and long-term goals for TM. The short-term goal is obviously to reach the WC, which we have already done. The long-term goal should be to advance from group stage and go into the knock-out stage. I have never seen any coach (and for that matter, player) in TM that ever thought of long-term, except for CQ and TM, 4 years ago. CQ was in fact looking at the long-term and prepped the team for that event, and came as close as any coach or team had ever done in our history. The fact that we did not advance in the last WC, is a sad tragedy. I see our current coach as more of a vanilla-flavored coach...; not sure what trick he has up his sleeves, if any. In fact, I do not believe he does. He is a good coach, but I do not see him as clever and creative. I am looking for someone who can think outside the box, as CQ did. To me, one of the best ways to advance to the knock-out stage is to be put in second-Pot. So, everyone in our football organization had now better be thinking of that goal. This means call every player available, set up camps and friendlies and "think" that you are already in the next stage and do what it takes to make it happen. I hope our coach is up to this.

They claim that "the approach in football is a complex dynamic system in which everyone has a specific role. The final results is a sophisticated algorithm that generates player ratings on a scale to 10, depending on what the players did during their time on the pitch. SofaScore statistical ratings are live, meaning they update in real- time as the action unfolds."
Comments: Shahryar thanks for your detailed analysis and info digging. So it all boils down to us winning all the remaining games and on top of that doing well in friendlies? Do you foresee us achieving this, given the current passage through Covid-19 and its different strains. Add to that the possibility of not having access to all our legionnaire aces? I would also welcome your thoughts on our current coach and his ability to navigate us through WC.

Comments: ... the teams in Green already qualified (plus Serbia and Qatar that are below Iran's ranking; hence not being shown). The teams in Blue will most likely also qualify. The teams in RED, will most likely NOT qualify for the World Cup, and there are 4 of them. This means if this likely prediction comes through; Iran will be in the 17th position...; so close, and yet not good enough for Pot-2 Grouping. This means that IRAN will have to gain enough points between now and the time of the "Final WC Draw" to move up one spot; which would be trying to reach Uruguay (39 points ahead of IRAN, currently). This is no small feat, and we can also hope Uruguay, even though will qualify, but gets some losses along the way. Uruguay will most likely be playing against 5th place Asian team, which means they probably will rack up some more points. However, if the 5th place Asia team happens to be Australia, and they can actually beat Uruguay, then IRAN will be in the 16th spot!!! In conclusion, GO AUSTRALIA... (this will be the first time ever, that I root for that country, lol).
Comments: I made further investigation in the possibility of IRAN being put in the Second Pot...; and there is a definite possibility, however, we do need to gain points, since relying on "Fate" alone, will not work for us. IRAN is currently in 21st spot in FIFA Ranking. This means that there are 20 teams above us, and we need to be at the worst case, in the 16th position for the 2nd Pot Grouping considerations. دعوت تیم ملی فوتبال ژاپن از تیم کشورمان برای فیفادی ژوئن (خرداد ۱۴۰۱) است. ژاپن که هنوز صعودش به جام جهانی قطعی نیست، از تیم کشورمان درخواست کرده است تا در آن بازه زمانی، دیداری تدارکاتی با تیم ملی ایران برگزار کند. تکلیف برگزاری این مسابقه باوجود درخواست ژاپنی ها هنوز قطعی نیست. دراگان اسکوچیچ سرمربی تیم ملی ایران در تازه ترین مصاحبه خود در این خصوص گفت: برخی از مسابقات از قبل برای ژوئن برنامه ریزی شده است. از ژاپن هم دعوت نامه دریافت کردیم. ببینیم چه میشود. برنامههای زیادی وجود دارد و مهمترین چیز این است که به خوبی آماده شویم. در انتظار حضور در لورکوزن؛خداحافظی رسمی باشگاه زنیت با آزمون/ بابت همه چیز ممنون سردار!

Comments: ... and in regards to Mexico; I already read some very insightful comments by our doostan on this page about that country. First of all, I agree that they seem to have lost their edge, ever so slightly. But we should not rule them out... EVER!!! Mexico has a team that I consider to be "Opportunist". Perhaps the most opportunist team in the world, after Brazil and Serbia. This means, you cannot give them even half a chance, since they will take full advantage of it and score against you. Furthermore, they never give up during the game. They continue fighting until the last second, because they truly believe they can win EVERY game. That is amazing to me to see them fight; you never know what they will do, but you know it will not be boring, and there is a chance they will score out of nowhere. Because of all this, you can never count Mexico out. And when this is all done, they will qualify directly, and whether they are in first, second or even third place is meaningless, since they accomplished what they wanted, which is going to the WC. They also almost every time advance past group stage. I only hope they don't get matched up against Brazil, which seems to happen every time to them...; poor Mexicans. |
