Where's the ban on the perpetrators of wars I mentioned down there? See the true face of international justice! Russia face World Cup ban threat as sport turns yellow and blue for Ukraine

Comments: Mashti, add to that 20 years of the American war crimes in Afganistan, demolition deby of Iraq, Libya, and Yeman. No international sanctions against the occupiers. No sports competition banners against the perpetrators of these wars.

It goes to show, no matter who occupies the White House, ordinary people of color, especially Palestinians get screwed by the American foreign policy.

Comments: I hope so Keefer jAn. The game against Korea is inconsequential. I hope for the team to be lucky in the World Cup. They will need it.
02/27/22
Comments: Faramarz totally agree. What I say about them performing for our Korea game like they do at their club is wishful thinking. However thus far, we have been lucky, and I hope that luck does not run out.

Comments: Ali jan, I will appreciate the source if you can find it.
I don't believe there's a super power competition, but I may have given that impression. If Russia or China stand up to the US, that does not in my little notebook says they claim they are superpower. At any rate, it's a wild world we live in. Like they say in persian سیاست پدر و مادر نداره . I am ok, and I hope you feel the same.

Comments: I agree Keefer jAn. But the reason Taremi and SardAr shine is not just their talents but also the midfield and the strategy that gets the midfield to feed Taremi like they did today, at least once every five minutes. We neither have the system nor all the pieces sorted out for the midfield. So, SardAr and Taremi will have to do with a handful of opportunities that randomly and by fluke land on their feet. We will then have to see whether they will be able to take advantage of the random chances or not.

Yes Keefer, I will try to find it. It was in the context of Iran NIOC selling these shipments much cheaper than market prices, because iran needs to entice buyers who take a risk of possible secondary US sanctions and often these shipments pass through middlemen who hide the origin of the oil and take big cuts and at the end Iran is left with a fraction.
But you see that is NIOC, that is the government and that is official. In Iran then you have the elites behind the scene and their share of access to the oil that no one can account for. These guys also own shipping companies, the famous one is Admiral Shipping Company, and have their cargo ships in Persian gulf filled with oil and waiting for customers to sell. Aside from external pressure, unfortunately Iran also has internal challenges. Actually these are the guys who are trying to do anything possible to sabotage the JCPOA deal. As far as Iran having the bomb, I 100% agree. They should and they are entitled to it. But Keefer you know the deal. They can’t do it in hiding. USA, China, and Russia have to give the ok and none of these guys have ever been in favor of Iran having the bomb. Now back to that picture. Here is a wild theory; let’s say you are right these are about countries competing for supremacy and I am wrong. How about this, the three countries in the picture agree to take on as follows:
Russia takes Ukraine China takes Taiwan
and in the process they leave
Iran for USA!
The stage is set: peace in Europe, peace in South China, peace in Middle East. The problem Child once again becomes the Taliban. Another 9/11! Borj Khalifa instead of the Twin Towers and the saga continues on and on and on through our next generation. That is how it has been since WWI.

Comments: Taremi's header was a beauty! Once again it would be nice if our guys connect like that against the Koreans!

Comments: Ali jan, where did you read that China buys Iranian oil at a 75% discount? Can you provide the source?
02/27/22
Comments: Ali, thanks for sharing those thoughts. For now, all I can say is that with every dynasty in Iran, we had individuals and families playing prominent and took more than their share. Since I'm outside of the country, the best I can hope for Iran is a strong military (including nuclear armaments) to provide territorial integrity, independence, and security. If we don't have that, the saying goes, then you have to serve somebody. Let's hope this dynasty does not lose a piece of what's left of Iran. It is up to the citizens how to go about getting what's theirs.

Amen to this ShahryAr jAn: "I just want all us us to pause for a moment and make an acknowledgment ...; It is so refreshing to have intelligent and mature conversations with smart and conscientious friends on this site. Faramarz, Keefer, Ali, Kamkar, rashti, mashghasem, HAMVATAN, Kamkar, LOL, Observer and of course Zinsky add so much value and content to this site that makes it a pleasure to visit, read and post (I am sure I missed one or two names here; my apologies). Thank you doostan."
Very well said. I have been with Iranian Football Page since 1996 and really the main reason has been the respectful discourse that all of you bring here. Each individual is responsible in building the environment that we have here, and I have to say that (with the exception of a few years mostly due to mismanagement) you guys have built something that has hooked us to the site. I am grateful for knowing all of you.
