Zinsky, I do not see the Sepah and criminals running the country will allow CQ back. CQ took charge since they are incompetent and corrupt and they don't like that. The same goes for someone like daei.
"TM problems are bigger than the coach. No management, no planning, no preparation!"
CQ demanded and took care of all details to annoyance of thieves: Got TM camp, training/medical building (that they took back as soon as he left), arranged friendlies through his connections, demanded camps and more importantly fought for TM and players. He was a one man army. They wanted a subservient coach and they got one.
They put Estili as sarparast so they have control over everything. He is one of the most corrupt individuals in our football and has a khaye maal approach. In the same mold as Daryush Mostafavi.

It’s sad to watch the highlights and see no real action in TM. We played like bunch of players put together in the last minute. In all honesty, that has been the case. Most players show up a day or two before the game!!!
I prefer CQ to our current coach but in all reality, TM problems are bigger than the coach. No management, no planning, no preparation!

‘Egypt-Senegal clash is a World Cup final,’ Queiroz expresses readiness

Mahmoud Elassal , Thursday 24 Mar 2022

Egypt’s national team coach Carlos Queiroz has declared the readiness of his team for the game against Senegal in the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoff, affirming that there are no injuries in the Pharaohs squad ahead of the anticipated game.

Egypt, who are seeking to qualify for the World Cup for the fourth time in their history, will host Senegal for the first leg of the qualifying playoff on 25 March 2022 at Cairo International Stadium, while the second leg match will be held four days later at Stade Olympique de Diamniadio Stadium in the Senegalese capital of Dakkar.

“I want to send a message to Egyptian fans, I want all the Egyptians to be behind their team during Friday’s game against Senegal.

“It’s only 48 hours before the game, so I want them all to raise the Egyptian flags on their home windows,” Queiroz said.

“I want all the Egyptian parents to allow their kids to wear the Egypt national team jersey on Friday.”

Last month, the Pharaohs lost to Senegal on penalties in the African Nations Cup final.

The 68-year-old coach took charge of the Pharaohs in September 2021, succeeding Hossam El-Badri, who was shown the door after a series of unconvincing performances.

The former Portugal, Iran, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia coach Queiroz accepted the challenge, promising to do his best to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

The problem with Iran is the ones who bark most of the times are old farts living in the past. In politics, arts and sports.

That's why we have a criminal terrorist bunch running Iran for 43 years.

CQ would have done as before in Korea today. The plentiful of talented players would have enabled him to take us to a different orbit in Asian football.
However, with all that, it remains to be an unknown what he would have done with the Covid in the picture.

I love that picture of CQ, Keefer.

It reminds me of 4 years ago, and how he reacted to Korean coach when TM beat them at home :)

I am sure you guys remember that...., 4 years later and without CQ, we went from a resounding victory on Korean turf, which is not easy to do, to a humiliating defeat, and some people are still defending this coach [rolleyes]

HAMVATAN,

That has been my exact sentiment and wishes for the past few months, ever since he left Colombia :)))

I was torn between liking him and wanting him to succeed wherever he is (Egypt now), and wanting him to fail so we can have a chance of brining him back, lol.

I even thought if he loses too badly at Egypt before coming back; he may lose his confidence, so was looking for a scenario somewhere in between..., lol.

That is the extent of my imagination :)))

A good coach never blames his players even if they did not perform. Did CQ ever criticize any of his players for their performance (in public)?

Shahryar you are not off. My wishful thinking: if CQ does not qualify with Egypt, we should go after him as he already knows our players.

Hamvattan,

I was surprised to se a 5-4-1 start for our team. I knew right away that the coach had no plans to win this game, and was hoping for a miraculous draw, or an honorable defeat.

This is a very bad sign for a coach.

It looks like representatives from Asia are:

1- Korea
2- Iran
3- Japan
4- Arabia

Australia will probably beat UAE in the playoff but lose to Peru/Chile. So Asia and South America will have 5 representatives each in WC, this year (Qatar being the 5th, as host).

Horrible game. No solid tactical plan. No adjustments as the game went on (this is when a coach shows his worth). There was a highway for their left winger on our right side the whole game resulting in a goal and multiple chances. No midfield supplying Sardar with any opportunities.

It sounds like we are stuck with this coach; that is too bad, because we have a lot of talents in our team, and we need someone like CQ whom can harness those talents.

Today's game saw a lot of defensive lapses; things we had not seen for years by TM under CQ and forgotten that it still exists. Perhaps those who wished for CQ's departure, can see the results of their ill-thought ideas.

I also agree that it is perhaps too late to bring another coach, but still think we should try. This WC is all but lost, in my opinion. I said this back in November shortly after we qualified. I said that, we should prepare ourselves for one of the worst WC appearance results, ever.

Once again, I hope I am wrong, but when it comes to these things, I have been proven to be correct (unfortunately).
