If the potential is not there what available foreign coach is out there, other than CQ, with a combination of offensive and defensive strategy to take us to nirvana (second round for now)? I said other than CQ because the nuckle heads of IFF might not have an inclination to bring him onboared again due to whatever دوز و کلک they have on mind. Next, if we end up with with the same coach, what combination of vatani coaches, if they go along with, would be a successful addition?

Comments: Faramarz, Your post below is exactly how I feel; I could not have said it better myself. The second European country, regardless of who they are, is very strong. Wales for example, has beaten the following countries during their last ~20 games: Austria (2-1), Belarus (5-1 & 3-2), Estonia (1-0), Turkey (2-0), Czech Republic (1-0), Mexico (1-0), Finland (3-1), Ireland (1-0), Bulgaria (1-0), Hungary (2-0), Slovakia (2-0), Albania (1-0) to name a few. When you see above results, they mostly shut them out, which means they are a very defensive minded team (where is CQ?), and it will be very hard to score against them. They also made it to the semi-final in Euro 2016 and lost to the eventual winners, Portugal. Simply put, Wales is a very strong country. As of now, England is expected to get all 9 points and finish in first place in Group-B, with Wales (or Ukraine and even Scotland) finishing 2nd with 6 points. IRAN and USA will be tied for the last place with probably 1 point each.

The only external candidate worth considering at this point in time is CQ. Otherwise, a group of Daei, MKia, Nekonam, Hashemian, Bagheri and NavidKia with Daei as head coach would fit the bill. They need to add a good defensive assistant coach from Europe. |
