Keefer Jan I would not include the name of Omid Dana in the same paragraph that includes name of scholars like Chomsky, Oliver Stone, Huntington, Howard Zinn and others...it is not just an insult towards those scholars, it is an insult to some of us the مخاطب who admire those scholars. We have many critical thinkers here on this page with wealth of knowledge and analyzing abilities including yourself.

Keefer, I agree. But iran’s corruption is so out of hand, so out of hand, that it is just dangerous.  And even Khamenei and Ghalibaf dont know how to handle it. Just like Al of us here on this page I care only about the people and their quality of life.  This regime unfortunately as everyone on this page agree has been nothing but Badbakhti for Iranian people.  The number one enemy of Iranian people is this regime. Number two is Russia. Actually you cannot even legitimize  it by calling it a regime.  Iran is in the hands of certain gharatgar Mafia type individuals you cannot even label them a regime.  These individuals are not there for the betterment of Iran, people and future of Iran.  They are only there to gharat.  And the difference between a dozd and ghAratgar is that a dozd knows his limit. Pay a visit to Kurdistan, Khuzistan, Bushehr, and other rich part of Iran.  Check out the copper mountains of Sar Cheshmeh, Check out the gold mines of Shahr e Babak.  Taken over by agha Zadeh and individuals.  And the last thing these individuals want is an agreement.  If there is an agreement that will mean they have to let go And they will not. Because all they care about is just them the individuals.

Thanks. Not a fan of Parsi but that was interesting. We have to agree politics are just so complicated. US, Israel, and the vicious western partners are essentially laying the stones to extend ruling the world. This French election is extremely interesting and should be closely watched.

Observer به آقایی خودت ببخش. I hope you liked the writings, the comments and lectures of academics, film makers and some of the top intellectuals of this country that I have been placing here throughout. Examples of which included Chomsky, Oliver Stone, Huntington, Howard Zinn and many others. You are also welcome to post your choices.

As Iranians, at this crucial juncture in ours and the world's history we have to hear everyone. We don't have to agree with them, but listening to them gives us the advantage of formulating and strengthening our own thoughts better. I am trying to learn and practice more about this important issue myself here and other places.

We have heard thief this and thievery that for over 40 years. Here we are NOW. We have no unity, and depending upon who our garden variety choice of enemy is, IT has succeeded in tearing apart our bonds. Let's come down and communicate with each other. What's the use of constantly calling each other names? Some even resort to فحش خواهر و مادر as you might have witnessed here and there. Oh ok, I would want these perpatrators rule Iran.[rolleyes]

Keefer and Observer,  one of those scholars that I have respect for is Trita Parsi.  I know by saying this I will not hear the end of it.  But he is someone who cares about iran and he did his best to normalize the relationship between Iran and USA.  He kind of gave up as he saw both sides (Iran and USA) playing games on the issue.  He is now concluding that Biden has been playing chicken game with Iran and it is Biden and USA taking their time on reaching an agreement to weaken Iran further.

Unfortunately after so many years of tireless effort to bring the two nations together, in his recent interview with Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, he concluded that Biden is appeasing Israel and Saudis and with Russia weakened and incapable, he is planning war with Iran. And China will just watch and benefit from it (Taiwan).

Observer, unfortunately mediums like Monoto, II, or BBC with their motives have their own issues.  But I do agree that they invite people with different views to debate which is what we should focus on.

About gold, rial, oil, and all the precious mines, it is in fact true how rich the country is. But what we tend to do is we close our eyes on seeing who is in charge and what it means. These are not your delsooz patriot vatandoost. Dooms day is on the horizon for iran.

Corruption, theft, and waste in Iran are so deep-rooted in the regime that even its supreme leader Ali Khamenei has compared it to a seven-headed dragon. Ghalibaf said: “One of the problems of running the country is the multiplicity of revenue accounts and the lack of accurate monitoring of the resources obtained from the sale of petroleum products.” This was seemingly a clear admission to corruption that is swallowing all the country’s wealth. This situation is the result of the regime’s political turmoil and the rule of nepotism in the oil industry, one of the many examples of the lack of strict control over the revenues from the sale of petroleum products, which has not been included in any of the regime’s budget bill over the past years.

Keefer Jan, Don’t waste your time with these nobodys. No need for me to fight and argue with Ashghals out there.  People outside are also smarter than before. More merit to debate with scholars with opposite views. At least you can learn something.  Don’t waste your precious time with these things. You and most of us on this page are more profound in nature than putting even one minute aside listening to this guy.  Actually the video you posted by him, I watched that debate and it was indeed interesting how iranians think about the political system in future.  You don’t have to agree or disagree but good to listen. I did not agree with them even though all 4 of them look astute.  Here it is:
