Comments: I think they will use Kish as a last resort. When selling the tickets and a packages that it comes with it, they will use Kish as a destination AFTER they ran out of hotels in Qatar, Dubai and surrounding areas. I haven't been to Kish and don't know how many hotels are available. I did a quick check online and there seem be to be 35+ hotels in the island. assuming (Ass U and me) 200 rooms per hotel, it will be less than 10,000 rooms. That doesn't seem like a big deal either way. I think most, if not all will be occupied by Iranians in Iran or Iranians traveling from around the world.

معاون اول رییس جمهور بر حضور پر رنگ تر بخش خصوصی ایران در حوزه های مرتبط با برگزاری جام جهانی فوتبال تاکید کرد و گفت: برگزاری نمایشگاه های توانمندی تجاری ایران در قطر و تامین نیازمندی های غذایی، پشتیبانی، اقامت و تردد گردشگران خارجی و تماشاچیان مسابقات فوتبال از جمله زمینه های مهم فعالیت بخش خصوصی است. مخبر دستگاه های مختلف را مکلف به تدوین و ابلاغ برنامه جامع همکاری های ایران و قطر کرد و مقرر شد ظرف یک هفته آینده برنامه عملیاتی زمانبندی شده هر دستگاه مشخص و اجرایی شود. وی توجه به بحث گردشگری و حضور گردشگران خارجی و تماشاچیان فوتبال و بازدید از جاذبه های تاریخی و گردشگری ایران را از مهمترین زمینه ها و فرصت های درآمدزایی و همچنین سرمایه گذاری در مدت برگزاری جام جهانی فوتبال برشمرد و از وزیر میراث فرهنگی،گردشگری و صنایع دستی خواست تا زمینه های حضور فعالانه مردم و بخش خصوصی برای این موضوع فراهم شود.
Comments: تورهای جام جهانی قطر هنوز مجوز ندارد مدیرکل توسعه گردشگری خارجی گفت: مجوز اجرای تورهای جام جهانی ۲۰۲۲ قطر هنوز صادر نشده است. جام جهانی فوتبال ۲۰۲۲ از ۳۰ آبان تا ۲۷ آذرماه در قطر برگزار میشود. درحال حاضر برخی آژانسهای مسافرتی و همچنین، وبسایتهایی که یکباره و فقط به انگیزه جام جهانی ظاهر شدهاند، تور جام جهانی را با وعده ویزا، اقامت، بیمه، راهنما، ترانسفر فرودگاهی، گشت شهری، بهعلاوه بلیت بازیهای ایران را با قیمتی که پایه آن از ۱۵۰ میلیون تومان شروع میشود، تبلیغ میکنند و اگرچه وزارت میراث فرهنگی، گردشگری و صنایع دستی آنها را بدون مجوز دانسته، اما تا کنون هیچ اقدامی برای مدیریت این تبلیغات و نظارت بر آنها صورت نگرفته است.

Comments: I agree the idea sounds too far-fetched but the prime target are the countries around the region. and according to some estimates 500k Iranians alone are said to choose homeland facilities due to pricing.
Comments: With Iranian nuclear deal almost dead, what is the near future of Iran/USA/Israel relationship? Are we going to see a war soon? It is almost certain that without a deal, Iran will go full force toward enriching at much higher levels. USA & Israel will not sit and watch that happen. What is next? Will Iran become the next Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria or Ukraine?
Comments: Faramarz, Depending on the price, availability of transportation and overall quality, I believe we could see fans from some countries wanting to stay in Kish. Prices are nearly 1/5 of hotels in Qatar today. I am sure it will go higher if they are hosting WC fans but still... If fans can fly or cruise back and forth with ease, it could work. Kish is not going to solve the issue but could be help. I think many Iranians in Iran and overseas are the prime candidates for Kish.
Comments: I cannot imagine anyone from Europe or the US would agree to stay in Iran in order to attend the world cup. so, I am not sure how valuable this deal is for Qatar. Maybe this is more of a way of accommodating the Iranian travelers, which will be a decent number in the Islands of Kish and Gheshm rather than housing them in Doha. I am not sure how much this will help Doha though. Their logistics problems are much greater than what Iranian travelers would pose.

Comments: Iranian media have reported that a deal is about to be struck for $7 billion in funds that are currently frozen in overseas banks to be released back to Tehran. The funds have been trapped by U.S. sanctions on Iran. It is not clear if the unfreezing of the funds may be a sign of progress at the long-running talks in Vienna to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

Comments: A joint committee has been formed between Iran and Qatar on the feasibility of building a sub-sea tunnel between the two countries, and then it will decide on the finalization of the plan. Woo-hoo;-) There are several discussions about the use of Kish and coastal provinces in Iran to supply Qatar requirements in the food sector too.
Comments: Today Iran and Qataris signed Aviation and Marine transportation documents and agreements relating to the upcoming World Cup. The cooperation extends to hospitality for the World Cup spectators. These decisions will make a new season of cooperation between 2 government. I have no idea how the hospitality part will be played out.
