ستاره فوتبال آلمان در بدو ورود به تهران، سراغ علی دایی را گرفت. برای او پیغام هم فرستاد اما خبری از دایی نشد.
خبرورزشی - آرتین زهرابی؛ لوتار ماتیوس از جمله بازیکنان بازنشسته فوتبال آلمان است که از سال ۲۰۱۰ به جای حضور در عالم مربیگری برای خودش زندگی میکند. ماتیوس که برای یک کار تبلیغاتی به ایران سفر کرده بود، طبق معمول سراغ علی دایی را گرفت؛ او مدعی شد چند بار با دایی تماس گرفته اما خبری از او نیست. سفر یک روزه ماتیوس و رفقا به تهران و پیغام او به دایی تا همین الان هم بی جواب مانده است؛ یعنی دایی حاضر نشد به هر دلیلی که فکرش را میکنید جواب ویدیو و پیام همتیمی سابقش را در بایرن مونیخ بدهد. 
علی دایی در فعالیتهای اجتماعی و همچنین حضور در مجامع بینالمللی وسواس خاصی پیدا کرده است؛ قرار نیست دایی را هر جایی ببینیم. شرکت در مراسم قرعه کشی جام جهانی یا دعوت رسمی کنفدراسیون فوتبال، اتفاقاتی هستند که دایی را ترغیب میکنند. وجهه و جایگاه کاپیتان تیم ملی ایران مشخص است؛ به این اعتبار هیچ خدشه ای نباید وارد شود. چند سال قبل که لوتار ماتیوس برای حضور در یک برنامه تلویزیونی به شبکه ۲ رفت، دایی هم همراهش بود و کلی خاطرات خوب از آن شب به یادماندنی برای آنها ثبت شد. اما در مراسم افتتاحیه یک باشگاه ورزشی در خیابان فرشته، اثری از علی دایی نبود و پیغام ماتیوس به او هم با سکوتی معنادار مواجه شد...
