Comments: From observing the highlights (very limited span of the game), these are my conclusions (1.5 cents): -Fundamental organization is missing in our defense: spacing, positioning and zone coverage. -The same basic defense no-no was committed twice in the game. In coaching at youth level (AYSO), they tell defense not to back pass to the middle with long passes. I assume that the coaches did not address this after the first goal since the 2nd goal was due to the same type of mistake. -Defense was not confident in passing and holding at times with short passes but rather tying to relieve themselves of responsibility by doing the "hot potato" routine making it the next guy's responsibility (and not moving to open space to provide a target for the man with the ball). These were all of the things CQ instilled in TM.
Comments: 1) I think Abed Jr. cemented Beiro's position as #1. I do not see any scenario under which Abed will start, unless Beiro becomes unavailable (injury or a bus incident) 2) Noorafkan as a CB was also weird. I think for some reason Skocic likes Noorafkan and is trying different places for him. He will probably opt for the usual CBs, may be plus M. Hosseini. 3) Ezzi is still solid for TM. I cannot figure out why he cannot find a decent club. 4) In my view we still sorely need an AM who can design and lead attacks. May be Taremi can do that and move Sayyad to forward. He did ok in a couple of Porto games playing that role. I thought Sardar also did a decent job of that position in one of the Leverkusen games. 5) I wanted to see Sayyad more. Why is he not there? JB needs a bit of a push. Sayyad can also play forward as well and would have been great to see what he can do against a semi-decent competition. 6) A camp in Qatar was not the smartest idea, but Qatar subsidized a lot of the expenses. I heard that IFF could not afford to camp elsewhere and get friendlies. Now the anti-Iran and anti-TM crowd and their cheerleaders have something to celebrate while eagerly awaiting a failure by TM, to soothe whatever issues they harbor. Between the incompetence of IFF and the loud-mouth hate groups, I hope the players take some motivation from all of this, but I do not expect miracles. 7) Yes, CQ would be nice, but its not going to happen. Last time IFF did not pay him. He would be crazy to walk into this situation. But may be he could help as an unofficial consultant. He knows this team well, it is still mostly his team, and I am pretty sure he wants it to succeed.

Comments: Given the level of our football and the teams that we face, until major improvements, our priority in the WC has to be team defense. This is why CQ is the right choice. at the same time, my eyes do not drink water. They will drag out Skocic until a week to the games and then appoint an Iranian coach.

We had many tactical problems against the second Algerian team. Uncoordinated defense with confused midfielders who seem to have no plans dictated to them. This preparatory game showed why the players of the Iranian national team spoke instead of the head coach and the officials; Almost everyone protests and complains about this situation. The TM condition is so worrying that Algeria, in a preparatory game, put all the pros and cons of Iranian football on the circle. He scored 2 easy goals and we scored a hard one against the Algerians; That goal was not the product of a tactical and pre-designed work, but only because of the individual creativity and instinctive talent of the two players, we opened the gates of Algeria once. This game showed that if we think about Iran's games in the World Cup, our minds will definitely break; Especially to Iran's first game in Qatar, against England ...!
Comments: مرد پرتغالی گزینه اصلی جانشینی اسکوچی دوشنبه 23 خرداد 1401 - 15:16  تهران (پانا) - شکست تیم ملی بعد از چند ماه سرگردانی و اردوی پر انتقاد در دوحه گرم احتمالا جایگاه اسکوچیچ را چنان لرزان کرده که هر لحظه احتمال جدایی او وجود دارد. تیم ملی شب گذشته در یک بازی پرانتقاد مقابل الجزایر شکست خورد تا زنگ خطر در فاصله کمتر از ۶ ماه تا جام جهانی برای شاگردان دراگان اسکوچیچ به صدا دربیاید. وضعیت نابهسامان تیم ملی در ماههای اخیر و حواشی مختلف به وجود آمده باعث شده وزارت ورزش و جوانان به صورت جدی به دنبال ایجاد تغییراتی باشد و حالا زمزمههایی مبنی بر برکناری درگان اسکوچیچ وجود دارد. در شرایط فعلی فدراسیون فوتبال به قدری درگیر بحرانهای مختلف و بیپولی است که حتی اگر بخواهد هم بعید است بتواند سرمربی جدیدی استخدام کند اما در مراجع بالاتر اوضاع به شکل دیگری است و بعضی مشاوران این روزها گزینه تغییر در کادر فنی تیم ملی را پیشنهاد دادهاند. شخصی که این روزها نامش برای جانشینی اسکوچیچ مطرح هم شده هم کارلوس کیروش، سرمربی اسبق تیم ملی است که پس از جدایی از مصر تیم ندارد. او که مدافعان سنتی در فوتبال ایران دارد و البته منتقدان جدی و دلیل جدایی اش از فوتبال ایران همین فشار سهمگین دو قطبی بعد از شکست در جام ملتهای آسیای ۲۰۱۹ بود. نکته مثبت کیروش شناخت خوب او از تیم ملی است و مرد پرتغالی سابقه کار با اکثر نفرات حاضر در تیم را دارد. کی روش که در فوتبال بریتانیا و آمریکا سال ها کار کرده شناخت عمیقی از رقبا دارد. مدافعان او در نهادهای بالادستی فدراسیون فوتبال اعتقاد دارند در این شرایط سخت اقتصادی کشور، موفقیت تیم ملی در ایجاد نشاط عمومی بسیار اهمیت دارد و کی روش میتواند به تیم ملی تا حد زیادی نظم دهد تا این بی سامانی تمام شود. برای سرمربی سابق ایران هم یک شانس بزرگ است چرا که او تمایل فراوانی به حضور در جام جهانی قطر دارد تا پنجمین حضورش را هم تجربه کند و رکورددار شود. دیگر دلیل برای افزایش احتمال تغییر در کادر فنی تیم ملی، همگروهی ایران با انگلیس و آمریکا است. دیدارهایی که جدای از ورزش حساسیتهای زیادی در دیپلماسی عمومی این کشورها را دارد و همین موضوع باعث شده این دوره از جام جهانی فراتر از مسائل فوتبالی حائز اهمیت باشد. با توجه به این شرایط قطعا امکان هزینه کردن برای تیم ملی وجود دارد و با توجه به اهمیت این مسابقات از نظر ژئوپولتیکی نتایج بازیها اهمینی دوچندان دارد. اگرچه بازگشت کی روش دردسرهای فراوانی دارد که هم در نوع مدیریت این مربی و انتقاداتش از کمبودها نمود خواهد یافت و هم البته منتقدان سنتی او که بی شک یک دو قطبی شدید دوباره برای تیم ملی ایجاد خواهد کرد.
Comments: None of the teams in our group will make it to top 8. England, as usual, will make it to the next round but will not survive it. I think the fight between the 2nd ranked team in our group would be interesting but again, neither teams are good enough. With CQ, I would give ourselves a chance to gain 3-4 points. With current coach & IFF, I would not think any points are possible.
Comments: keefer, I would take CQ due to his knowledge of our football/players. He might be able to improve our defense and put together some decent friendlies in the next few months but again, my eyes don't drink water!!! I do not see any major changes in the next few months and this is it. We have never came back from WC with zero points but this one could be the one...
