The United States had a historic opportunity to usher peace onto the world by bringing Russia into NATO and eliminate all anxieties. Comments: Iran is the biggest unknown in this WC. No one can look at our past 10 games and make any sense of our style. No team can prepare for Iran. We play with heart, not brain. We have the talent but not anything else. I don’t expect much from this team. I would love to be surprised but won’t bet a $1 on it.
Comments: Zinsky, 4 of the stadiums are already sold. The stadiums are modular and can be disassembled like LEGO. One stadium was rumored to have been bought by Iran retrofitting the current stadium in Kish as part of the deal with Iran hosting visitors. Comments: Keefer jAn, I am far from an expert but here is how I see the USA team. In terms of talent, I think they are the weakest team in the group by far. But as you said they have a lot of friendlies but also a very weak coach. So, overall, I would rate them as the weakest team in the group. Our team is much better in the talent category, especially if they consistently field Beiro, our chances would be better. We have the weakest coach and no meaningful friendlies to speak of. We also have a lot of backdoor dealing for who gets to go and who gets to play.
With the USA, there is very little uncertainty. The players are what they are and so is the coach and the friendlies. So, there is little variability in team USA. Iran on the other hand is the picture of instability. While it is quite possible that under the current conditions, we suck and end up with zero or one point, it is also possible that with sudden dynamics, or change of the coach, or something like that, because we have the talent, we get four points and qualify for the next round. So, there is a ton of uncertainty with our team right now. This is also bad for the opponents. They do no know what they will face when the field against us.
