Keefer,

My answer for best choice is CQ for his discipline, knowledge of our opponents (he has worked in UK and US and has faced their style in MU and national competitions at different levels) and familiarity with our players and their strengths. Above all he is a master tactician.

Vatani coaches are missing most if not all of those qualities and the divisions won't go away. Only Daei, NN and Bagheri type can unite this team through discipline and non of them will be willing to take the helm. Hashemian is too quite to be effective and the rest of TM assistants don't have any leg to stand on. My choice would be Daei with good team of assistants/analysts but we will end up with GN.

I have not been following the recent events regarding TM coaching and am not sure where things stand (have to read lots of posts to catch up).

But, I do not believe we have anyone from Inside IRAN who can lead IRAN in the World Cup. We simply do not have the experience, the drive and the pedigree if what it takes.

If we pick a "Vatani" coach, we will simply have a figure head, whom is going to sit there on the bench and make a bunch of useless calls, and will limp along for three games, and come home after a dismal showing. We may get a single point at best and that is being generous.

Keep in mind that I still believe that we have a formidable team that can make great strides in this World Cup, but without a proper coach at the helm and with the divisions I have heard exists in the team, I am not very hopeful.

I really don’t know. I think the best choice would be one of the existing assistance coaches.

I’m not sure anyone would make a huge difference in 4 months or so. I just hope the team won’t go into more disarray than now!

First off I'm not sure even Daie would accept this duty. This is not a light task in light of the current upheaval.

I asked Zinski and Hamavatan to express their thoughts on who would be a successful candidate for TM at this juncture but they have not gotten a chance yet. At any rate, any one is welcome to enlighten us as to who the individual vatani coach would be able to take on the task of containing the damage and  at the same time getting the team ready for Qatar.

شانس دایی از کیروش بیشتر است

چیزی که مشخص است، اسکوچیچ به پایان راه خود در تیم ملی رسیده است و احتمال برکناری این مربی بسیار زیاد است. طی روزهای قبل از کیروش به عنوان گزینه اصلی تیم ملی یاد می‌کردند و حتی شنیده شد با سرمربی پرتغالی سابق تیم ملی مذاکره هم انجام شده است. با این حال آخرین شنیده‌ها از آینده تیم ملی حکایت از آن است مدیران عالی رتبه و بالا دستی فدراسیون فوتبال علاقه مند هستند تا یک سرمربی ایرانی روی نیمکت تیم ملی در جام جهانی بنشیند. از همین رو انتخاب اول آن‌ها علی دایی است و شهریار فوتبال ایران شانس به مراتب بیشتری نسبت به کیروش برای در دست گرفتن هدایت تیم ملی دارد. یکی از دلایلی که شانس کیروش را کم کرده به حواشی زیاد این مربی و مخالفانی است که در داخل ایران دارد.

This volleyball team reaching to the top eight of these competitions happened without Maysham Salehi and Saber Kazemi. Playing the less experienced ones was one of the characteristics that Atai, like Alkeno Rossi, acted on. It remains to be seen what plan vatani head coach has in mind for the team. With the brilliant results obtained and the good performance of team, the expectations of the Atai team have risen and let’s hope that this young team work will continue successfully.

The interesting thing about the shooting in Japan is that immediately following the shooting, the media there displays the picture of the shooter with the posters of Che in the background.

This is at a time when Japan is moving towards nationalism, and forming its own army, aiming for extra territorial duties and the US, originally against such thoughts, struggling to contain both Russia and China. Any idea, as to the possible connection?

Keefer jAn, u said it well. We are in an impossible situation right now. But it is one that could have been easily predicted and avoided. A coach who is not up to the task can only reign over high caliber players only for so long before crap like this comes out. With a bit of planning and replacing him in time, when we still had some time would have avoided all this.

Are you serious? You think what we talk about in here has any influence on the decisions made in Iran? How old are you, no offense? As fans of Iran's football, outside of the country, you have your say, and I have mine. By the way, by we I mean the Iranian footballers. Some who have spoken against and some for the current coach. In regards to the choice of TM coach, it sounds like we have check-mated ourselves. No?

With the ongoing division amongst the players, we can’t continue with the current coach nor can we bring in CQ, even though it is too late. The choice of vatani is also a dilemma,  since anyone of them come with their own baggage.  We really shot ourselves in the foot!
