Housing prices in iran has gone from Crazy to WTF!!!

Some high end apartments go as high as $1,500/sqf! This is with $ at 31,000+.

There is no logic behind it. Some 30-35% of the apartments are investment only. All empty while paying condo fees as high as or higher than $250/month. These are mostly large apartments (3,000 sqft+).

It takes an average engineer with a good job 50 years to buy a 500 sqft apartment in Tehran. Not northern Tehran but just average area. Of course with inflation, the price will rise like crazy and the engineer will never save enough…

An Overview of the Trillion-Dollar Economies in the World
https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/an-overview-of-the-trillion-dollar-economies-in-the-world

Back in 2018, approximately 76% of the world's GDP came from 16 of the trillion-dollar economies. The number of these nations remained the same during 2019 and 2020. The year 2021 saw an addition of two nations — Iran and The Netherlands — to the ‘trillion-dollar’ club. Today, there are 19 countries with the addition of Saudi Arabia.

Together, these economies make up 80.57% of the global GDP, which stands at $103.47 trillion. The number of trillion-dollar economies is expected to remain the same over the next few years before three nations—Turkey, Switzerland and Taiwan—join in 2026, as per projections.

United States

China

Japan

Germany

United Kingdom

India

France

Canada

Italy

Brazil

Russia

Korea

Australia

Islamic Republic of Iran

Iran is a founder member of OPEC and holds 13.1% of the proven crude oil reserves. “Iran’s economy is characterized by its hydrocarbon, agricultural, and service sectors, as well as a noticeable state presence in the manufacturing and financial services,” according to the World Bank. The U.S. has continued to imposed restrictions on activities with Iran since 1979, following the seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. On the other hand, China's purchases of oil from Iran have been hitting record highs in recent months. Iran entered the trillion-dollar club in 2021 and is expected to reach the $2 trillion mark by 2026. With a projected GDP of $1.74 trillion in 2022, Iran is the fourteenth-largest economy with a per capita income of $20,261.01.

Spain

Mexico

Indonesia

Saudi Arabia

Netherlands

The rankings are based on IMF data for Gross Domestic Product released in April 2022. Nominal GDP is mentioned as GDP is at current prices, U.S. dollars.

Let’s defeat IRI from your living room! Long love the unknown guys saying “LENGESH KON”!

YOUR EYES DART to your computer to your phone and to your computer again. Your mind spins. Your heart rate quickens. You pounce when you see a notification pop up.

You’re in an argument online. And it’s taken over your brain and sucked away most of your day. You want to win. You want to look smart. And you won’t “give up” until you’ve made your point to the nth degree.
Banter and debate can be really fun—like brain candy. But brain candy turns acrid when it becomes the only thing you’re eating all day because your healthy interest in sharing your opinions has turned into an obsession with “winning.” Online arguments can consume hours—or even days of your life, especially with all the heated current events this year. And that can be a potential problem.

Speaking of being UNITED, Keefer or Zinsky khan why don’t we get UNITED with majority of Iranian people all over the world and fight against the brutality of Islamic Republic against women, teachers, degar andishan, gays, and etc.  Why don’t we get UNITED with majority of Iranian and fight against the gharatgari and dozdi of the mafia regime.  Why don’t we get UNITED with majority and fight against Hejab Ejbari. Why don’t we get United with majority and fight for removal of Velayat Faghih that nobody wants. I think i have the answer. It is us (we) that don’t want to get UNITED on those fronts. Fair?

Faramarz Jaan,

Very true and of course sad!
I’m no expert but I believe it all started when others planted the seed of division in our culture since they realized we are a multi cultural country. Fars, Turk, Kurd, balooch, Arab and…
It became even more intense after few million of us left Iran and instead of supporting each other, became comparators. Iranians are trying so hard to prove to other Iranians that they are richer, smarter, …
Iranians are the least united immigrants that I have seen. I might be wrong (usually am)!

Zinsky jAn, IMHO it all stems from our lack of tolerance for people (of our own kind) to disagree with us. We are totally okay with people from other countries to disagree with us. At least we are able to hide our dismay. But when it comes to our hamvatans, I'll be dammed if I allow any one of them disagree with me. We actually take it as an insult and react to it through character assassination. This behavior is unbelievable to me. This is why I thought Keefer's response was so special the other day. The day we fight for, rather than encourage the take away of, the rights of those who disagree with us, we will become someone, until then, in immortal words of Jamshid HezarpA, we are hootootoo.

By the way, the english are best at what I am promoting. Regardless of their internal disagreement, in the end, they always come together in support of their country. Americans used to be okay at it as well, but they are now exactly like how we are, which is why I think their empire is on its way to the history's dumpster.

I think that commercial airliner will go a long way to reduce the American monopoly and by pass dollar based trade. This would be huge. We will have to see whether FAA will allow these planes to fly into USA.

China’s domestic Boeing rival nearly ready

We could use a few hundred of these planes. Opportunity lost for Boeing and Air bus.
On the other hand, I think, a few years ago Iran embarked on a project of her own called something like "Iran 140". I wonder if it is still in the works or put on back burner. This is definitely an area in which we need to invest in to free ourselves from the yoke of the western monopoly which also denies us the purchase.

keefer,

Simple example of not being united is our own small group of old football fans! Once we were 20 or so fans that found a place in the web to talk about our beloved football and other events in our homeland.

After nearly 30 years, we went from one chat room to 3. Not just divided but hating each other. Name calling, going after each other family members, trying to destroy each site by various actions. Using fake and multiple names to discredit each other.

Once again, these are a small group of mainly educated, older folks who once were passionate about Iran and Iranian football.

Multiply this by millions of people in Iran and around the world. Disagreements are not an issue. We can have different points of view but what I have witnessed in our small community is an insult to our way of life and dealing with each other.

As long as we act this way, Iran will be run by moftkhores and mofos.
