Comments: Shahryar jAn, well said. Keefer jAn, leaving is not an option. Shahryar is absolutely right. So, after 26 years of doing this, my advice is thicker skin and the scroll bar, like Shahryar suggested. It is a waste of time reading posts of people who discuss things with themselves under different handles.

Keefer JAn,
I must have missed some posts then; but I tend to not read any Troll's posts, and keep skipping over them. I recommend as a friend, for you to do the same.
And Keefer jan, for you to leave is simply not an option. This Board needs you, Faramarz, Zinsky and all the other classy people we have here; KAmkar, Observer, LOL, etc.

Actually, Sardar's body language is that he feels he is in the arms of his dad...; he sees hope again and can't hep it but smile.

Epic Iran: Ancient objects that reveal writing's roots

By Kelly Grovier19th August 2021 An exhibition about Iran traces how some of the world's earliest scripts developed. They were as much about images as text, writes Kelly Grovier. "What more do you want from your time here?" The existential question, posed by the 14th-Century Persian poet Hafiz, is woven into a dazzling 16th-Century carpet that is among the treasures showcased in the Victoria & Albert Museum's vast exhibition Epic Iran, 5000 Years of Culture, and in the lavishly produced catalogue that accompanies the show. Thornily thought-provoking in itself, the probing fragment of verse belongs to a sequence of five couplets from a ghazal (a medieval Arabic verse-form typically devoted to the subject of love) that is stitched into the border of the silk, wool, and metallic-thread carpet, providing a calligraphic frame for the pattern of intricately interlocking flowers and birds that sprawls across the textile.

Comments: Keefer jAn, as I am sure u r well aware that most people here respect and appreciate your contributions to the site. It is a sad day that freedom of opinion cannot be respected, but this is our society now. Unfortunately, those who chant the loudest for the downfall of the current regime have most of the same traits that they blame the regime for. It is important to me that your thoughts and opinions be represented without any regard of what they are and whether I like them or not. This is the basic principle of freedom of speech.
My advice to you my friend is that you should not give in to the abuse. The intention is to discourage you from posting and so, do not let that win.

Comments: Zinsky,
The odds are generally meaningless. but especially when it comes to IRAN. They know nothing about IRAN and get their estimates based on what someone else wrote somewhere obscure.
Iran's chances improved substantially when CQ joined TM. Before that, it was pretty much three games and pack your bags the night before the last game and hope you lose with some dignity, unlike Arabia vs. Germany for example.
Now, we have a chance to make a difference. When CQ comes and says that England is one of the best teams in Europe (Not the World mind you, because that is when Brazil and Argentina get involved too; he is very smart and savvy), he is already putting England on a very high pedestal, effectively putting massive amount of pressure on them. In other words, they have everything to lose and nothing to gain from that game against IRAN. This will cause them to make errors, which hopefully our boys can take advantage of during the game.
CQ is a magician, and we all should expect a magical show in the three games.

Wait a minute Keefer Jan; what is going on? why are you saying good bye? The reason people like Zinky and I left the other Board is because of their Admin's bullying tactics and lack of sensitivity. When we found yo and Faramarz and others on this Board, we felt we found a treasure.
I noticed that lately, there are a lot of "trolls" coming to this board, mainly because they are jealous of what you guys accomplished here. This has been the center of communication, intelligent interaction and class, to mention a few.
Perhaps I misunderstood your statement, and hopefully that is the case and you are not really gone.

Comments: As of yesterday!!! Notice the head coach 🤪
Iran
To qualify: 9/2
To win Group A: 25/1
To win World Cup: 750/1
World Cup appearances: 6
Best performance: Group Stage (1978, 1998, 2006, 2014, 2018)
Head Coach: Dragan Skočić
Star player: Mehdi Taremi (FC Porto)
Golden Boot favourite: Sardar Azmoun (Bayer Leverkusen), 40 int. goals, 200/1
Our verdict: Iran will appear to many to be the whipping boys of this group, they have only won twice in their previous five World Cup appearances and are in a really tough group. However, they qualified top of an Asian group including the UAE and South Korea, winning eight of 10 games and conceding just four goals, so they will be a tough nut to crack. They possess decent fire power in the form of the two men upfront, Taremi and Azmoun and will be a threat to any team. I think this may just be a step too far though and after facing England first up, the Iranians could become demoralised for the battles to come.

Comments: Checking the betting lines, there has been absolutely no movement in the odds for the Iran matches since CQ became coach.
Unlike some of the the overexcited fanboys here, the betting companies don’t see anything changing in terms of our chances with CQ taking over.
Btw if any of you guys think you know more than the betting companies then go ahead and put your money where your mouth is. Cause you’re basically getting “Skocic odds” with “CQ at the wheel” and based on some of the comments here that should mean “easy money”.
Unless of course you’ve just been talking nonsense this whole time.
p.s. The same is true regarding over/under goals and odds of making it out of the group. No changes.
