Comments: Damet garm Shahryar jAn, well said.
Comments: Thanks agha Shahryar jan. Very well said on football and the re ent event! Usa vs Saudi 0-0 minute 36
Comments: This is a Football Board, and for many of us the only outlet we have, so I do not wish to discuss too much politics. However, no one can (or should) ignore the tragic events happening in our homeland. For anyone to get hurt or murdered because their hair is showing is a crime against humanity. If I were in charge and learned about this, I will have no mercy on the perpetrators. I make sure they suffer 10 times more than their victims, so that nothing like that ever happened again. Having said that, I also know that there are many "elements" within and outside IRAN that plan to take advantage of this situation and get their agenda on the table. That is fine, except some of these agendas are anti-IRAN and created by "vatan foroush" people. They will take advantage of the highly-charged emotional state of people and take full advantage of them getting their agenda across. That is something I do not want to see, and no true Iranian should either.
Comments: Indeed Agha Shahryar. A heroic effort. Hero of Team Melli
Hero of Iranian people ![]()
Comments: Keefer Jan, Regarding your question of what style we should play against England, here is my feeling about that game: - England is very strong in "every" position. they will outplay and outsmart every one o four players, except perhaps for a couple of players - To play them an open attacking game, invites trouble, since they can score three goals in 10 minutes against any team; their game against Germany yesterday proved that - Now, both Germany and England have defensive issues to allow 6 goals, but then again, they were both trying to look good in front of their fans, and English coach tried to save his job, which I believe he was successful - Playing openly against England could allow their midfields and forwards to swarm against our defense, and score at will, if we are not careful. We could lose the game in the first 20 minutes, wondering why things went wrong!!! In conclusion, and knowing CQ, he will play a very cautious game against England, at least for the first 30 minutes or so, testing the waters and looking for weakness in their lineup. If we are close (tied or down by one goal), he will unleash the counters against England starting minute 55 or 60 after two subs. To me, that is the only way we can face the Three Lions and come out relatively healthy and alive
Comments: I did not watch today's game (just the last 20 minutes), but saw the highlights Zinsky posted here (thanks). Based on what I saw, it seemed we did not play as well as last time against Uruguay. I think we were missing the "intensity", which is not that unusual for a friendly game, but we should be more focused since many of the payers are fighting for the spot in the starting lineup. Senegal is a strong team and a 1-1 score is respectable, although I think had it not been for heroic efforts by some of our players, we could have lost this 1-3. Overall a fair friendly game for us; I hope CQ got what he wanted to from this game.
Comments: Beevatan all that sounds good. I think Jalali create a competion for HAji which sparked his good performance, all signs of a good coach and no preferential treatment of anyone. The big question about CQ's Iran team is always the adjustments that he introduces in second half usually around minute 70. How do you see that adjustment go if we are tied but need to win. He showed two different attacking views, one in the first game and entirely different in the second game.
Comments: I agree Faramarz this was 2 experimental games for CQ to evaluate his options and come up with an optimal starting line up for WC. In goal Bayranvand is #1 and Hossaini will be his sub. He tested all the permutations for CB between Khalilzadeh-Kanani-Ganji-Hossaini. My sense is the first 2 will be starting. In right back he is happy with Moharami. Left back is tricky but Haji has to be the #1 option. For DM Ezzat and Nourollahi are his priorities with Ebrahimi as a sub. For CM he has Ghodos as his first choice and Sarlak as a sub. On the wings JB is a starter with Amiri/Torabi/Gholi/Kareem are in competition, he will choose one depending on the opponent and his tactical plan. Sardar and Taremi are the obvious choices up front but he is not going to start them both. Given all this we can estimate his starting line up vs England as something like this: Bayranvand-Moharami-Khalil-Kanani-Haji-Ezzat-Nourollahi-JB-Ghodos-Amiri-Taremi

Comments: I think HAj Safi not only showed poise but also has matured. He may have been our best player. Hosseini is good bu man his exits.
Comments: سلام به اتوبوس سلام به صفر صفر سلام به صفر یک سلام به یک صفر سلام به یک یک سلام بر کیروش کبیر
Comments: Zinsk, I think in some games, we might play TAremi behind Azmoun, sort of his Porto role. We'll see. Senegal is very physical. I thought it was great that given that Senegal was the better team, CQ had the guts to stick to his plans and do four subs at the half! That was great. We now know who can play physical.
Comments: TM did not play "park the bus" style. Senegal was a better team but not by much. Too many mistakes but overall they are doing better than expected. All the political pressure couldn't help either. For the time being Azmoun & Taremi will play half each, it seems.
Comments: Very good experience against a physical team. Second half was very experimental, but the offensive players created some chances, one of which turned into a goal. IMO, the player that did very well was Haj Safi. Hosseini is a good alternative but his exists are suspect. Our own goal should not have happened.
Comments: what a waste of corner. over, 1-1
Comments: JB is out of gas. If there were any more subs, he would have come out.
Comments: Our passing trend is not too good. Easily our passying target missed or intercepted.
Comments: I do not like Moharrami. He is fast but he seems to be always out of position and his passes are inaccurate.
Comments: Well, his TM performance ought to help his case in benefield |
