Comments: Bravo Shahryar. I also have credit cards. Several. But fully pay them off each month to avoid the nasty interest. On the house side, I am wondering whether dems will pick up any seats at the last minute. Because of not a lot of people participating in the sh$tshow, in many of the remaining races a few hundred may make the difference. :)
Comments: It is likely that the Republicans will have a narrow edge in the House; since they picked up a quite a few from democrats already. my guess is they will have 5 or 6 more representatives in the House by the time this is finished. But in the Senate, as you mentioned, Democrats kept the lead. They could in fact gain one seat if Georgia run-off goes in their favor. If that happens (51 to 49), that will be the first time a sitting democratic president gained a seat in the senate after 2 years, since Kennedy did it in early 1960's.
Comments: Faramarz JAn, That is really innovative; outside the system sounds very appealing. I also paid all my mortgages a few years ago and pay for stuff with cash as much as possible. But I also do use credit cards, but to this day have not paid one penny of interest.

Comments: I never owe anything and so, I used to get the over paid taxes back and it would be gone into little things in no time! I now have $60K in the IRS bank that I am now getting back for a car. By the way, it is really liberating to live outside the credit system. I paid my mortgage and all my loans years ago and buy everything cash. So, now I do not care about my credit score. This has huge fiscal benefits that I never realized. For example, if you have kids in college, you can intentionally not make payments on my credit cards for a few months before you file your kids' fafsa for their college loans. That tanks your credit score. So, when you then apply, the university rejects your loan application. What happens then is that they consider your kid on his own. So, they will give him a much bigger chuck of the good federal loans with low interest that you would never qualify for. You can then pay the rest of his college cash. You will have much lower interest on your kids' college loans and a lot more flexible repayment plans, usually very accommodating to the kid's income rather than yours.

Comments: Zinsky jAn, 2020. :) I use IRS more or less as a bank. Whenever I have a big purchase, I get my money from them and buy it. They hate it, but other than a bunch of nasty letters and some low-life tactics, they cannot do much about it. I am now looking at getting an electric car.

Comments: in Arizona (right at this moment) the republicans are protesting against the voting centers and claiming their votes were stolen by the democrats and do not accept their democratic senator who just got reelected. People in power act like elitists and do not want to give up power. They lie and cheat all the time and make new rules to protect themselves. It is a shame, that Iran government is not any better.
Comments: I really hope the Government makes some concessions "before" the games, sending a message that they are willing to admit they made mistakes. I know they will not do so; just look at people in this country like trump and his followers..., they never admit to their mistakes. The world is full of such people. |
