Comments: Anyone else who wants to change their predictions for tomorrow's games has until midnight tonight (Pacific Standard Time) to do so.
Comments: My brother Amir updated his predictions for tomorrow's games; here they are:
Comments: That was a very poor showing by the host Qatar and they lost 0-2; could have been worse. I will post the results f today's predictions later this afternoon. However, Zinsky, LOL, Arman and my son Daryuish predicted the game perfectly and get the full 6 points...; I get zero points

Comments: Faramarz, I agree that this is an extremely poor showing by any team in the World Cup, let alone the host; at least in the first half. I think the worst thing that happened to Qatar was the reversal of the first goal due to offside (which I am not sure it even was an offside). The reason for me saying that is that after the reversal, Qatar played very timid and was scared all of a sudden. The first two minutes, they came out with confidence, and I thought this would be a good game. But as soon as the goal was called off, Qatar played very scared and I knew it was a matter of time, before they give up a goal. By the way, I think Qatar Goalie was at fault for the fist goal (called back), and caused the penalty. Ecuador's 2nd goal was a beauty and could not have been stopped. Too bad, Qatar could not convert in the last second with the header; that could have been a huge boost for them and would have turned this game around. As it is now, I do not think Qatar can recover from 0-2; but let's hope the second half is a better game to watch.
Comments: This is such an embarrassing display for a host! Any minute they will take in another.
Comments: Well it was inevitable. 1-0 Ecuador.
Comments: Oh my god. they canceled the goal. For what?
Comments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Was this the fastest goal any host has conceded?
Comments: I have to be honest in that I really hope that GhAter loses today because of the way they cheated their way to hosting this and how many people lost their lives to build these stadiums.
Comments: Very average opening ceremony; underwhelming. They tried hard NOT to use women in skimpy clothing; and I think it backfired! Everyone expects some of that these days in their opening ceremony. Not a bad ceremony, but average, in my opinion. I expect Qatar to win this game against Ecuador; not because they are good, but because Ecuador is not that goods this year. I saw their last friendly game and it was very bad; almost as bad as the USA.
Comments: Disappointing opening ceremony!
Comments: Not sure whether it was the hype about the $200 billion or this really sucked! :) What was the deal with the light sabers and the plastic suits? They just looked so cheaply made. ![]() Mammad Arreh is also there.
Comments: Shahryar, I always worry too much 😜!!!
Comments: Mamnoon Shahryar jAn, but the posting is really not that hard. Thanks for taking the time to make the spreadsheet. That takes time.
Comments: LOL is there a translator for that site?
Comments: Ecuadorian players do not look happy! ![]() It will be in the mid 80's all week in doha this week.
Comments: I thought the South Africa world cup had a better opening than this!
Comments: Rashti JAn, Shoma kheliy lotf dareed. We have to thank Faramarz JAn for posting them. Zinsky JAn, I know how you feel ( I know you through these Boards for over 25 years), and you always worry too much that we do not do well, and usually are happy with our TM efforts :) Having said that, I know what you mean; this time is very different and we do not know how much of an impact these recent events has had on our team's mentality. Suffice to say that when our players and coach come out to say, we want to focus on the games during the next few days, it is certain that they are not focused now. That disturbs me as well.
