حسن تامینی درخصوص حضور بدون حجاب سارا خادمالشریعه در مسابقات قزاقستان؛ اظهار داشت: این شطرنجباز به صورت آزاد و با هزینه شخصی در مسابقات سریع جهان که به میزبانی قزاقستان برگزار میشود حضور پیدا کرده است.
وی افزود: هر سال یکسری مسابقات در کشورهای مختلف برگزار میشود که شطرنجبازان به صورت آزاد در رقابتها حضور پیدا میکنند و بازیکنانی که از طریق فدراسیون اعزام میشوند مجوز شورای برون مرزی را دارند. خادمالشریعه از طریق فدراسیون در این رقابتها حضور نداشته و به صورت آزاد رفته و این اقدام را انجام داده است. انتظار نداشتیم که این شطرنجباز این اقدام را انجام دهد چون در مسابقات قبل با رعایت موازین شرکت کرده بود.
رئیس فدراسیون شطرنج همچنین با اشاره به عدم رویارویی دو شطرنجباز ایران در مسابقات قزاقستان مقابل شطرنجباز رژیم صهیونیستی خاطرنشان کرد: یک بازیکن از رژیم صهیونیستی در این مسابقات حضور داشت که دو بار به بازیکنان ایرانی برخورد کرد و هر دو بار پویا ایدنی و بردیا دانشور حاضر به رویارویی با این بازیکن نشدند.
وی ادامه داد: این نگرانی وجود دارد که در مسابقات آینده نیز شاهد حضور شطرنجبازان رژیم صهیونیستی باشیم و به بازیکنان ایران برخورد کنند.

The little-known organization, called Setad, is one of the keys to the Iranian leader's enduring power and now holds stakes in nearly every sector of Iranian industry, including finance, oil, telecommunications, the production of birth-control pills and even ostrich farming.
Setad has built its empire on the systematic seizure of thousands of properties belonging to ordinary Iranians, members of religious minorities, Shiite Muslims, businesspeople and Iranians living abroad, according to the report. According to one of its co-founders, Setad was created to help the poor and war veterans and was meant to exist for just two years.

I am sure there are fees for joining any confederations in return for certain privileges, bit nothin different from UEFA.
I agree with LOL that we should kick out Australia out of AFC; I do not know of any specific benefits we received from them. Their team quality is not that high. Russia is much better, although still a second-rated European team.

Russia has no choice but to join AFC. Europe has basically kicked them out and there is no outlook for a change in their attitudes anytime soon. And geographically speaking the vast majority of Russian land is in Asia, they have borders with China, Mongolia, North Korea all in AFC. It seems to me a much more natural addition to AFC than Australia.
But they will face opposition from 2nd rate teams that hope to get a place in 2026 WC and the "western" servants in Australia, Japan and Korea.
I would actually kick Australia out since now Oceania gets a spot of their own and bring Russia into AFC. And if Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Turkey are smart enough they should also join AFC to have a better chance of making the next WC.

I had never heard of Burkina Faso, until this story! It is indeed a country in west of Africa bordering Ivor Coast. How does a small and poor country like that end up with four Airbus 340s? These are very expensive and long-range planes!

That is an interesting article indeed, Zinsky. Russia (and turkey) are certainly better candidates to join the AFC than Australia was, and will increase their chances of qualifying for World Cup.
Here is what I see as the pros and cons for this re-allocation for these two countries (if Turley we re to also apply for ths0:
Pros:
Almost a certainty (>90%) that they will qualify for World Cup, every year
Cons:
1) The process of qualification in AFC will see them face considerably less challenging opponents that than are used to in Europe, leading tot (eventually) their quality and "class" being lowered;
2) The fact that next World Cup will have 48 participants may make this move unnecessary, as they have a lot more opportunities to qualify even in Europe
This however does not say much for AFC, overall. Everyone wants to get in their house to eat their food!!! Every time Australia qualified for the World Cup (including this year), another Sian team was left out.
What is in it for AFC? how do they benefit from, say Australia joining them? Possibly a slight increase in competition level? I am not sure I saw a whole lot of benefits for Asia, after Australia joined AFC.
