Comments: Taremi in action
Comments: Hello from Osaka. Another beautiful city. Heading to Vancouver on Tuesday.
Comments: Yes, Zinsky, that is the problem. It is never normal weather with us. always extreme. For the past several years, it had been extreme drought. Now, this. I am not sure how much is accumulating though. As you know our drought is because of lack of snow in Nevada and Colorado. I hope these storms have brought some snow for them too!
Comments: I also thought it was offside. I thought the rule was that if a player is in offside and affects the play in anyway, it would be considered offside. Rashford clearly affected the play because the Keeper was moving to block his shot. I also have heard, in the discussions for this goal, that if a player is offside and blocks the keeper's view then it is offside, even if he does not touch the ball. If this definition is the right one, then yes, this was not offside. I wish that there were an official FIFA site that explains all these rules. They change these rules so much that a page like that is necessary!
Comments: Offside rules could be complicated and potentially stupid! It was not offside because the guy who was in offside position didn’t actually touch the ball!
Comments: Faramarz, That is good news for SoCal. You guys need the rain & snow in higher elevations. The problem is that it goes extreme either way. Either no rain or it pours. Last year when I visited SD, it was so dry. Almost no greenery. I bet now it’s as green as it has been for a long time. Enjoy it while it lasts…

Comments: It is raining cats and dogs here Zinsky. I am not sure what is happening to SD. We usually get about an inch a year. But this year just in January we have gotten at least 5 inches!
Comments: The largest World Cup in history FIFA are set to introduce a new format with 48 teams instead of 32. Meanwhile, there's going to be a 5,000 kilometer distance between Vancouver, the northernmost venue, and Mexico City, which is the southernmost city. The distances between the 16 venues (11 of which are in the United States, two in Canada and three in Mexico) are enormous, while Mexico will become the first country to host three World Cup editions after organizing 1970 and 1986. "In 2026, when the players are going to come here for the World Cup of the United States, Canada and Mexico, they are going to see the level of the facilities and they are going to want to stay here. That can be the definitive step to attract stars," said Alfonso Mondelo, MLS sporting director.
