I am with you on that Shahryar jAn. I used to ski in Ab Ali in Iran and then there was a 15 year gap. The first time I skied outside of Iran after the 15 years was in Big Bear with fake snow. Of course, I did not know that they could make fake snow back then and when I started going down the hill, it felt so weird. I was like, what is this stuff!? It took me some time to get used to it. I go to Mammoth now and when they have real snow, it feels just like Ab Ali. But they too have had to make snow in recent years. I wonder how Mammoth is doing now.

Faramarz JAn,

The 5 feet of snow was just in the last 24/48 hours!!! I used to go there twice a year but anymore..., man-made snow just doesn't feel right!

For those who don’t know, one can drive from the beach in shorts to Big bear mountain resort skiing in 2.5 hours. It goes from 0 feet to 7,000 elevations that quickly.

Faramarz,

I think it is for now. The major issue in CA and some other areas are the underground water supplies. I’m not sure what would it take to get them back to normal but rain and snow will not fix that in a year or two.

Big bear road during blizzard is as dangerous as it gets. Narrow lanes, up/down slopes are crazy and it winding just about all the way. Worst part is that there are not enough guard lanes and one wrong move and car can go down the cliff…

Wow! We have been to big bear when all the snow was man-made! I also do remember the times that the roads were icy and so no cars without chains were allowed. But in recent years, it has been mostly man-made snow! 5 feet is a lot for 2023!

Is the drought over!? :)

I used to go to Big Bear almost every year. Nice cabin rentals and fun skiing. Not sure about the amount of snow but one year it was so much snow, they closed the road to cars without chain.

The Big Bear area, which was one of my favorite winter destinations for years, but not in the last 10 years, has 5 feet of snow in the past 24 hours !!!

Yep!!! In Redlands, this is the first snow since 1919..., over a 100 years ago!!

Hollywood sign is covered by snow, and people are doing some crazy stuff (dangerous) in their cars on the icy roads!

Shahryar,
And it has been pretty mild in East Coast. In 50 years, East Coast will be the place to be live for the weather! If I only live to be 110!

The Saipa deal shows Putin's desperation to keep Iran an ally. The United States has time and time again fumbled on ever middle eastern policy decision, prioritizing Israel's interests over its own. The United States continues the policy that in the short term benefits Israel, only, but in the long haul is pushing for an eastern economic network. This would be horrible for the west. It will first harm England and then the USA. This future will increasingly present more challenging with respect to gouging the resources of the rest of the world and open the door for the eastern block's gouging. This will collapse the western economies that are built around the global gouge!

Iran will play Qatar in the opening match of the 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup.

Samad Marfavi’s boys are scheduled to meet the Qatari side on March 1st at the Istiqlol Stadium in Fergana, Uzbekistan.
Iran will also play Australia and Vietnam on March 4th and 7th, respectively.
Uzbekistan is set to host the AFC U-20 Asian Cup, kicking off March 1st, which will qualify four AFC nations for the U-20 World Cup 2023 to be hosted in May/June in Indonesia.
The U-20 tournament is a revisioning of the U-19 tournament that was last won in 2018 by Saudi Arabia who beat South Korea 2-1 in Indonesia.
The 2020 edition was scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan but was postponed twice due to the Covid pandemic and then adjusted to a U-20 format to qualify teams for the Indonesian-hosted U-20 World Cup finals.

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Former Qatar coach Felix Sanchez is a new candidate to lead Iran national football team.

The local media reports suggest that the 47-year-old Spanish coach has been shortlisted to take charge of Team Melli.

Now, Sanchez has been linked with the vacant post.

The Spaniard was appointed as head coach of Qatar national football team in 2017 and his team won the 2019 AFC Asian Cup and were semifinalists at the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Tractor Spanish coach Paco Jemez and Jose Morais, Portuguese coach of Sepahan, are also among the candidates to lead the Persians.

Iran Football Federation spokesperson Amirmehdi Alavi had previously said thet Herve Renard is among the candidates.
