In my opinion, it was about time. By the way, I do not consider those loud mouths on RP's side a whole lot different from the ones on the religious side. Comments: Thanks Faramarz JAn for the "Sizdah Bedar" report. I can't say that I am surprised by lack of interest to the Pahlavis. There are only a very small percentage of people that support them, although they are very vocal, and it seems to appear that they have more followers. Frankly, if they were as popular as some of the "vatanforoosh" people on the other site claim to be, they would have had more success during the past 45 years. In summary, they are NOT going to be the future leaders of IRAN, and we do need a new breed of charismatic, logical, secular leaders that can connect to people of all age, and can also act as politicians in this very political world's climate that we live in currently. Hiding your head in the sands and claiming a purist attitude that we are right, will get you nothing but isolation and misery for your people..., if they care about them alt all!
Comments: To me, it seems like general dissatisfaction and lots of energy for regime change but no leadership that can lead the people in Iran.
Comments: So, we had sizdah bedar here yesterday and a lot more people than before showed up which was good. A few observations: 1. Unlike previous years, they did not entirely shower people with crap persian disco music. They played some kurdish songs and some form other regions which was received hugely by the audience. The kurdish dance formed two circles that included hundreds of people. This was great to see. 2. There was a stand with Valiahd's pictures free but only a few older people took the pictures (I counted 2). The mostly younger crowed did not care much for him. This supports what Farid was saying that for his generation, the Pahlavis are a bygone era. New leaders who can lead the crowds in Iran are needed. Leaders who can move the Iranian diaspora overseas are not relevant. 3. There were shir o khorshid flags and T-shirts for sale. But I did not see a single person buy them. This, in my mind, reemphasizes the notion that the diaspora here are only willing to shoot their mouth. Nothing more. Not even a few pennies for the cause. jonbesh in trouble? 3. HAji firuz was 92 years old and made a killing. I estimate, he made at least a couple thousand dollars.

Comments: kAmkAr jaan, It’s much easier to join a group than agree with you 100% of the time but that seems to be the problem these days everywhere. Everyone lives in a bubble. No tolerance for other options no matter how stupid! I don’t expect to change anyone’s mindset. I do me and let them do theirs. We hope for change in our homeland and the world. Hiding in a comfortable environment and keeping everyone else out won’t help either. This cult mentality that has been around for ever but got supercharged by internet will destroy humanity. Prime example is the small group of immigrants from Iran who love football and decided to join a chat room called IFP nearly 30 years ago! Look at us now! It’s pretty sad…
