Comments: Shahryar and Faramarz you guys are way ahead of me. You are choosing leaders and ministers already😊. My point is what needs to happen before we get there. We are all on the same page that the Islamic Republic proved to be a backward anti people and operates against the will of the people of iran. We all know that those in charge are part of the mafia based groups who are only after filling their own pocket many are actually at each other's throats. I think they will self destructively crumble themselves. There are people within the system who are actually seeing the county being destroyed and they want to do something about it. Those we need to go after. Like you said Ali Daei. But as brutal as regime is it is really tough for Ali Daeis to operate from within. The regime showed its true face to even those who were believers. Anyways when I said Ebadi or Mohtadi I mentioned them as the role they can have to unite people inside iran and internationally. They are credible people. RP or Rajavi do not have those credibilities. As far as who should lead the country or what kind of system we need to have that is something that people will decide. Personally I am in favors of a Secular Democrat system in any form with checks and balances in place. Be it a Denmark type of a system or a Switzerland type of the system. One thing we know. No more Jomhoori Eslami.

Comments: Observer this is a conversation that is important to have. For example, I did not know this "1) She is a nationalist and 2) has United base between men and women in iran." about SE. Has she actually had a leadership role in uniting Men and Women in Iran? I also have no idea about her tamAmiyat arzi tendencies and how strongly she feels about that. You seem to know more and so you should make a case for her.
Comments: I should say that there are a lot of important categories that I did not list. But on the ones I listed, here is how I would rate Ali Daei: 1) A (proven track record on tamAmiyat arzi, even in the face of Azaries in Tabriz). I do not think we have a stronger candidate in this category than Daei in terms of proven strong will to keep Iran together 2) A (If he were supported by a foreign institution, he would have been racing already) 3) B (no experience in government but has a lot of management of business, successfully in Iran, and formal education in the area) 4) B (He is a proven believer in check and balances. I think he is also a believer in separation of power, although I think with strong characters like him, there is always a risk of overstepping and hence the only reason for not giving him an A) 5) A (He has demonstrated respect for all denominations, including islam and others) 6) A- (He is a great leader but also could be antagonizing some. But for the great portions of the population, he will be a unifying force. Definitely a great leader.) I did not include important categories like proven experience in economic advancement f non-oil industries in Iran. In this category, he has a ton of great experience as well. In politics, shrewdness is key. In this category, he also ranks exceedingly high. Just the fact that he survives in a regime that he disagrees with completely is a proof of that IMO.
Comments: This is a great conversation, doostan. I wish I had more time to participate and post; perhaps in a few weeks. Suffice to say that such individuals with name recognition are in fact essential in the future of the country and need to have a "role" in it. Depending on their background, they should focus on specific areas. For example, Ali Daei could potentially be the head of Sports for Iran, and Shirin Ebadi will also have to have a voice; perhaps spokesperson for women's right..., they could even go as high as becoming a minister or professional consultant; SME (Subject Matter Experts).
Comments: Observer, Zinsky, I do think SE has some strong points. But the unproven categories represent a significant risk. May be you guys know her better and she is a strong candidate. But I worry about the unproven stuff. For instance, while everyone might want to rally behind her, I am not certain that she has the qualities to be a tough leader. Will this be another RP experience where the fans are a lot more energetic and demanding than the leader? |
