I am very sorry Fred from Australia. Mistake of habit. Can the admins change my handle to Farid? Thank you.

Sweden played well. Spain was just better. It seems they could win it all but who knows, it’s football after all.
I still think England will made it to final.

I saw the game live. It was an excellent game. Spain played very well and had come to win the game not to drag it out to penalties. Well deserved win.

Hello Mr. Faramarz and Rashti
I am very lucky as my family are all within 1 hour from my house. My youngest is about 10Km from me with his 4 kids.
In Australia like other places grown up kids do live the family and go to the jobs or education etc. I left my parents and lived 2.5 hours away but never lost contact and I am very happy my kids are all nearby. We meet for Christmas, birthdays and anniversary of arrival to Australia. When my father was going to Canada, he came a long way through Australia and decided it was a good place for his family. Most of his friends tried to convince him that Europe or USA was better, but he insisted and thank God for that. He lived to age of 98, (rohash shad) and my mother is alive at 93.
God bless all Iranian who are away from their country.
Fred

Watching EPL games this weekend(mostly highlights) I firmly believe that other than Haaland(who is in a league by himself) no forward in the EPL comes close to the effectiveness and efficiency of Taremi.

Unfortunately I think he is under some sort of unwritten 'sanctions' by the football mafia in the Europe top leagues. The powers to be just don't want an Iranian to become a star and popular with the football fans so no team will sign him in England, France, Germany or Italy.

In fact I think Taremi made a very big mistake not going to Al Hilal in Saudi. They made him a fabulous offer financially and he would have been playing in a league with the likes of Ronaldo,  Neymar and Sadio Mane.

But there is always Shahin Bushehr for him to retire at the end  [biggrin]

Agha rashti forget about Sakineh let me introduce you to Tina, Iran's #99 in the FIBA Asia Cup - Division B.

Iran is playing in the cup for the first time since 1974 and have already won 2 games vs Malaysia and Mongolia. I think if they make the final they will move to dasteh yek and play with the big teams.

Iran's #99 is a very very unique player. She is a plus size women who is deceptively quick and skilled and is a real enforcer in the paint and get this, she is 50 years old!

You can see her in action at the beginning of the 3rd quarter in this game.

I was born in Tehran. My father moved to Tehran as a teenager. I used to visit Zanjan every summer to visit my mom’s mom who lived there with her eldest son (my uncle).

Stephen Kinzer noted:

When we overthrew a democratic government in Iran, ….we sent a message, not only to Iran, but throughout the entire Middle East. That message was that the United States does not support democratic governments and the United States prefers strong-man rule that will guarantee us access to oil. And that pushed an entire generation of leaders in the Middle East away from democracy. We sent the opposite message that we should have sent. Instead of sending the message that we wanted democracy, we sent a message that we wanted dictatorship in the Middle East, and a lot of people in the Middle East got that message very clearly and that helped to lead to the political trouble we face there today. (Democracy Now)

Further, it appears that the principles of the 1941 Atlantic Charter are not something the United States and Europe are willing to adhere to particularly if it regards threats of access to capital, control of labor and control of raw materials, such as oil and/or access to seeds and control of seeds in the agricultural sector and many other examples.
