Comments: Some facts about Asian games. Korea won the football final, beating Japan. Philippines won the basketball gold with 4 American born players. One of them had a 30 point average in the games!
Comments: Overall I am happy with the results of the caravan. The best part is the breath of sports that Iran won medals, 19. That's never happened before and is a good sign for the future. The quality and total of the medals was below the last games but with the sanctions and lack of funds in the past 5 years it was expected. For the future Iran should first of all forget about football in the Asian games all together. Do not send a team and just concentrate on the Olympics. Instead spend the money on other sports that have shown potential for winning medals.
Comments: Looks like I win the tiebreaker for the contest with having a closer total number of medals. I would have been 100% but one wrestler(silver instead of gold) and one karate guy(no medal, expected gold) let me down. Thanks to Zinksy for running the contest. I donate my bastani to whoever is behind him in line to buy the ice cream

Comments: Putting religion aside (which I don’t really have one), this conflict is not as easy to take side in. Even the historical facts are not real. Who owned the land and who pushed whom out when!?! Reality is that the past 30 or so years have gone in the favor of Israel and totally screwed the Palestinians. Whose fault is it? Blame can go either way. One side is much smarter and uses all available resources to gain control and the other side has too many internal problems! Images seem last night, as sad as they were, are similar to images we have seen from the other side. Palestinians being overwhelmed by Israelis and people running around screaming for their lives and lives of their loved ones. As always, the average citizen is the one who gets the worst of the situation. It is basic fact that even if you are correct, you can’t just bully others to lessen to you and accept whatever you want from them. My last point is about Arabs, just like Iranians, not being united and everyone only wants what is good for them. The size and population of Arab nations is 10+ times of Jews. If they were united, they would have a much louder voice.
Comments: All those who wee supporting Trump and called his ME policy a historic achievement: It is time to smear and label.
Comments: This is an interesting tweet from The Hill: "The governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Iran appeared to back the Palestinian militant group Hamas in its escalating conflict with Israel." People's reaction are great, including one guy who is confused why this is happening when Jared negotiated a peace deal for the ME and everything was solved. :) https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1710909402515918940
Comments: Good morning to all the doostan, except for Farid, to whom I wish a good evening, I think!
Comments: Here is a summary of what we know so far: Israeli forces continued to battle Hamas fighters on the streets of southern Israel on Sunday and launched strikes that levelled buildings in Gaza, more than 24 hours after the Palestinian militant group launched a surprise and unprecedented incursion into Israel – the deadliest in decades. At least 600 Israelis were killed, including 44 soldiers, and more than 2,000 wounded, Israeli media reported. At least 313 Palestinians were killed, including 20 children, and nearly 2,000 wounded as a result of airstrikes in Gaza since Saturday, the Palestinian authority said. Seven people were also killed by Israeli army fire in the West Bank. The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said the country was at war and would exact a heavy price from its enemies. Hamas leaders said they were prepared for further escalation. Israel military officials said “hundreds of terrorists” had been killed and dozens captured as the fighting continued on Sunday. Israeli military said a “substantial” number of civilians and soldiers had been taken to Gaza and were being held hostage. In northern Israel, a brief exchange of strikes between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group raised fears of a broader conflict. In neighbouring Egypt, a police officer shot dead two Israeli tourists and an Egyptian at a tourist site in Alexandria. The UN security council is due to meet on Sunday after the secretary general, António Guterres, urged “all diplomatic efforts to avoid a wider conflagration”. Updated at 08.35 EDT
Comments: Hamas Says Attacks on Israel Were Backed by Iran By Summer Said A spokesman for Hamas, Ghazi Hamad, told the BBC that the militant group had received support from its ally Iran for its surprise attacks on Israel. Others have helped too, he told the broadcaster without naming them. Hamad said that the violence came in response to attacks by Jewish settlers in the West Bank. “Every day they build settlements, seize our lands, kill our people, and enter our cities, and through mediators, Egyptians, Qataris or the United Nations, we told them to stop, but they did not listen to anyone,” he said. Iran has publicly praised the attacks.
Comments: It is hard to watch the news these days as most of it is bad news. It is also really hard to try to control the bias. When watching this conflict in Israel, everyone has a bias toward one side or another. In this country, the news is mostly (all) pro-Israel. As much as everyone talks about piece in Middle East, no one really wants that. People might want it but the ones in charge, being from the region or from bigger superpowers, are not going to stop this conflict anytime soon. This fire needs to be kept alive. Politically & financially, this fire is just too critical to put out.
Comments: Iran won another Bronze in Karate. This is the final/official tally.
Comments: It is so sad that CNN is trying to pin this on Iran! Every laashkhor is taking their own angle!

Comments: It may be even worse. The relevant question is: How could Israelis intelligence miss the planning of such a major attack right under their nose. I think it is just as likely that they knew about it and didn't do about it. Nutty is in a lot of trouble at home. This can only help him. I do not think Iran is involved in this but clearly benefiting. I also do not think Hezbollah will get involved. They are much more sophisticated. This will be a purely local war for the benefit of the local governments.
Comments: We can start the blame game right away. Before doing that, let’s remember that hundreds have already died and thousands could be killed in coming hours/days. Most of them will be civilians with little to do with any of this. Nothing good comes from war. As humans, we are the only animals who do this. This could be the start of a bigger wars in the region. I certainly hope not but …
Comments: They will wait out the rocket attack by Israel n invite them to invade Gaza n then rain hell on them. This strategy worked in Lebanon n will work in Gaza. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
