Comments: This is totally true: "We are NOT entering a dark era; we have been there already for many years and in fact decades. After Trump, it came out and became more open. They do not feel they have to hide it, being a dictatorial regime here that silences decent." This morning there was an interview on NPR with a Palestinian leader and it was the biggest sham I have seen in journalism in all time. They had taped the interview but then after each response form the Palestinian, they had taped over a segment that would interject some propaganda in between, things like "what he is really saying is that he wants Israel destroyed". Not only this is not what he was saying, but also, he should have made those comments to the interviewee so he gets a chance to respond. But they totally edited the interview and over ran it with their own commentary to serve their own message. I had never seen such an obvious censorship and misguidance before!
Comments: Europeans, especially British, are the masters of interfering with foreign governments to get what they needed. It did not matter if the existing government was democratic or not. They had their goal and nothing else mattered. America, which I still believe are mostly British by blood, learned and perfected the act. The list is long and painful to look at. From Asia to Europ to South/Central America, they have changed governments and leaders based on the need of the day. Human lives, country boundaries and such were never part of the calculation. Some will argue that is what a government should do for the interest of its system/citizens. I am not so sure, but the problem is that it only works if they do it. If some other country tries the same tactics, they will be labelled and attacked as terrorists, crazy and ... No matter what, when an act by one government cause lives & livelihood of another country, it should be investigated and leaders to be punished. If only there was an international organization fully independent with real power to go after leaders/countries who have damaged other countries, less of this shit would happen. Any country that attacks another country for any reason should pay the damages done to it. It's not too hard to determine the amount. They do it daily in the courts in this country & others for individuals and corporations.

Comments: Zinsky, in regards to CIA coup. They had released info before and the world knows what they did. Now admitting that they overthrew a democratic government throws cold water on so-called "intellectual" shahollahi's defending it as savior of Iran not plunging into communism. I recommend everyone to read up on Dr. Hossein Fatemi who for me was the main character of Iranian Oil Nationalization, and democratization and a thorn to British. A true hero. https://www.mohammadmossadegh.com/biography/hossein-fatemi/
Comments: Zinsky JAn, We are NOT entering a dark era; we have been there already for many years and in fact decades. After Trump, it came out and became more open. They do not feel they have to hide it, being a dictatorial regime here that silences decent. Do you remember there was a show called "Phil Donahue" many years ago? He dared to speak up about the Iraq invasion and reveled many of the lies about the WMD during that time. His show was canceled immediately, and no one heard from him again. There is no freedom of speech in this country; just pretending and advertising that there is one.

Comments: This is getting scary! Harvard student groups issued an anti-Israel statement. CEOs want them blacklisted! I think we are entering a very dark era when students are not allowed to speak out. I was against universities or students blocking speakers from speaking in campus. I always thought they could just not go listen to people who don’t like. On the other hand, they can speak their minds. Even if what they say is crazy, they should not be blacklisted.

Comments: On the Hamas - Israel war much has been said about how this was trap set by Israel and all that. But I think the real question is why Hamas decided to do this. Everyone holds them for kids that easily fell in the Israeli trap. I am not so sure.
Comments: I will be in a meeting and so, please report here!
Comments: Lol, you know he will. Just as surely as GN will have no plan against it. :) So, it will be a disciplined defensive game but low quality players from one side and an ali asghari strategy with higher quality players on the other side. Should be interesting.

Comments: As Israel confirmed that 199 hostages are held in Gaza, Iran's Foreign Ministry claims that its proxy Hamas has expressed readiness to release civilian detainees. In a Monday press conference, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Naser Kanaani said, "The Palestinian resistance movement has informed us they are prepared to take necessary actions for the liberation of prisoners and non-military detainees they hold." Kanaani also emphasized the need for “specific prerequisites” to be met for this to become a reality. There has been no announcement on this through official Hamas channels as yet, while countries including Qatar, Egypt and the US work to release the hostages, dozens of whom are from countries from Europe to north and south America. While Israel prepares for a ground operation in Gaza, Kanaani used the press conference as a chance to legitimize the escalation of the conflict which began on October 7, when Hamas invaded Israel by land, sea and air, and massacred at least 1,400 people, including roughly 300 soldiers, with numbers rising. Holding up posters related to the recent bombings in Gaza, Kanaani threatened that the continued path of conflict could "escalate the situation out of control, leading to a range of possibilities," insinuating its biggest proxy, Hezbollah, will get involved from Israel's northern front. When questioned about whether Iran might directly intervene in the conflict, Kanaani did not provide a clear response. Instead, he referred to the capabilities of Hamas in self-defense and stated, "Hamas is capable in this domain, which is why the Zionist regime has avoided direct confrontation with resistance groups and has drawn the conflicts into non-military areas." Hamas receives around $100m from Iran each year in addition to military support and training. Top echelons of the regime continue to push for action against Israel. Ali Akbar Velayati, an advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on international affairs, met with a representative of Hamas in Tehran on Monday. He stated, "You should move forward with all your might."

Comments: As President Joe Biden considers traveling to Israel in a show of solidarity, about 2,000 U.S. troops have been told to get ready to deploy in anticipation of an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza aimed at crushing the Hamas militant group that rules the war-battered enclave. The American soldiers would not be sent to Israel but could be assigned to other countries in the region for support roles such as medical assistance or providing security at gate crossings, the Associated Press reported Monday, citing U.S. officials.
