On the hind site, I am not sure this worked out the way Israel wanted it to. This is if their intelligence did not fail and they actually wanted it to happen. It certainly looks like the whole thing solidified arabs against Israel like we have not seen in decades. And, put those governments that signed a peace treaty with Israel at a great odd with their own people. This also is making Iran look like the consistently supportive government. IRI will get a ton of popularity among arabs because of this! None of this could have been what Israel wanted.
