Comments: It is a pure case of censorship at all levels of society. Not to offend shahollahies but this country has the most extensive censorship program in the world. It not only imposes that censorship in this country but also tries to do that globally. In this country it has expanded to organized censorship imposed by a minority onto the majority. Yesterday morning, PBS had a program about how to handle the Thanksgiving dinner conversation! They started by saying that the younger generation is overwhelmingly pro Palestinian and so, the program's intention was to give advice as to how to steer the conversation from subjects that were damaging to Israel. It was giving advice to Israel supporters how to handle the situation. Imagine a radio station trying to teach people what the hush hush subjects are and how to prevent discussing them! Really sad.

Comments: DM jAn, that article is very interesting. I have to read it in detail and get into the peer-reviewed article. Cellular adhesion is very important in infectious diseases. For instance in TB, the bacili are very sticky and always clump together. It is unclear what advantage this presents but a few have been proposed. One is that through cellular adhesion, the cell population generates a sort of a shield against environmental pressure (immune, drugs, etc.) sacrificing the few in the outer layers to preserve the population (and the infection) as a whole. The other is that cellular adhesion is essential for quorum which often happens in bacterial colonies. The third is the role of cellular adhesion in forming biofilm (e.g. puss in a zit ![[rofl]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/rofl.gif "Rofl - :lol:") ) which may offer some protection against environmental pressures.So, this is a very important topic for infectious diseases. Being ale to modulate this adhesion through attenuation of protein function (especially using light) can be very useful in the fight against infectious diseases. Comments: Having completely been away from politics and news for over 10 days, I read all the stuff that Zinsky, Reza, and others posted and watched the video that Observer posted with great disgust. Reza jAn, in my opinion, the worst part is that in most cases, these wars are only between these fanatics which usually make less than 1% of the population but because of their hunger for power, they have prominent positions in society and drive these wars. Sadly, the remaining 99% of the population pay the price for these wars with their dear lives. |
