Comments: Sorry, I didn’t see Zinsky when I looked down there, but I just realized he’s also pretty far, so let’s give him some points too! I got the same score of 3 as others who predicted 2-0 for Argentina.
Comments: So far all 50/50 calls have gone in favor of the "Favorites", like USA, Argentina, etc. After a while, it gets old and frankly, it is taking away from this game. I called this before. I consider this a very dark chapter in FIFA history, maybe its darkest.
Comments: I knew you were kidding, Faramarz Jan. I just wanted to post them regardless..., it is good to have a second pairs of eyes on it (or more. lol). And for those who might want a reminder of the scoring methodology, a correct outcome of the game gets you 3 points. The correct # of goals scored by either team gets you one more points (for each correct score), and finally correct goal differential gets you one more point. The maximum one can get from one game is 6 points. The exception is in the knockout stage, if one person correctly predicts PK winner, there is 2 more points there for them for a total of 8 points.

When to call VAR and when not, when to scrutinize and when to dismiss, is all subjective. Is it true that ref called on VAR to dismiss Egypt's second goal because Messi told him to (or complained)?

Comments: Here is another stat to show you how good Iran was in this tournament. We have seen how hard it is for any team to come back from a goal down and not lose. Only a handful of teams were able to do it. But Iran did it the most. Comments: With one game remaining here is the grade for all the groups: Group I: A+(only group with 2 teams in the quarters, FRA and NOR) Groups C,G,H,J,L: A(Group winners made it to the last 8) Depending on the result later today Group B or K will get an A grade. Groups A,D,E,F,(B or K) all get F grade
Comments: So, in review, both teams scored 3 goals. But Argentina won because Ref decided to cancel one of Egypt's goals. In return, some suspect calls/no calls: 1. Argentina's first goal should have been offside and was not called. 2. Argentina's second goal was a foul in their own box and was not called. So, three suspect calls/no calls all in favor of Argentina. Do I have it right?

Comments: I am telling you, after seeing all these teams, Iran with the General in charge was good enough to be at least in the last 16 if it wasn't for all the FIFA and Trump regime's obstacles that was put in front of them. Time magazine had it right "Iran must be the unluckiest sports team in history"
